Not playing on this but can I just say that Wissie deserves some kudos for top-level trolling. Have to doff my cap because it's master-class stuff. But he can only do so if others take the bait. Just saying....

Edited by Stirlingsays (17 Feb 2022 9.25pm) If Trump wins in 2024, which is always possible, though hopefully unlikely as I suspect he is more likely to be in jail, I'll still be here, if I am able to be. I will analyse and criticise just as I do now. Trump won't change. He can't. If he deserves criticism now you can bet he will then. I don't have anyone "in" office. I give opinions on what I see and think is the truth. No-one gets a free pass.

This first reared its head in another thread, where it is inappropriate. It's so revealing it really does need to be viewed and debated, and not brushed aside as I suspect some here would like it to be. It fits better here. This concerns the Louis Theroux documentary "Forbidden America", in which he enters the far-right world of the online trolls of "America First", led by Nick Fuentes. There are many echoes of attitudes and excuses which can be found in some posts on these pages. Knowing some posters draw their inspiration from watching these kinds of things I believe understanding who is producing them to be pretty important. The documentary can be found on the BBC iPlayer. For those who cannot bring themselves to watch the BBC it can also be found on YouTube here:- [Link]

Theroux is obviously a social liberal making documentaries for other social liberals. However, while it's obviously going to be edited with an agenda I don't view Theroux as a liar or a dishonest man.....so it's going to be an interesting watch.

Surely it's best to watch it as made and reach your own conclusions? This willingness to view things through the lenses of people with strong political positions seems to me to be a significant barrier to objectivity. I though Theroux allowed people to justify their opinions very fairly, and not have it edited out. It was also clear he was subjected to significant intimidation, but remained calm and in control.

Edited by Stirlingsays (17 Feb 2022 9.25pm) Complete ideologue so no point to engage really. The problem with telling lies is you have to remember them all and when you don't, rely on some semantic interpretation to try and wriggle off the hook. Johnson is quite practiced at this. Bear in mind WE is getting on , he himself said he needs a daily nap or words to that effect. He clearly believes what he is saying but can't accept that his opinions are not facts.

I really don't think Biden is cut out for this job. The stakes are high, and he can't cut it. Same in the UK. A Moron in charge, but where was the opposition at election time ?
I disengage, I turn the page. |

It's double scary when Biden's no 2 is Harris.
