If clubs are allowed list of preferred options, then why can't players? It's not that Benteke does not want to come to Palace, he just wants the best move for himself. He is top of our list but likely to be on Evertons list of Lukaku goes and West Ham are clearly interested if their targets fall through.

It's risky but everyone does it. The last thing you would want as a player is to move to a club only to find out that a Europa League/champions League club were also interested in you.
Also, as a club you don't just want to buy your 4th or 5th striker, to find that your number one choice has finally gone to a relagation fancied team.

But that won't change Liverpools valuation of him.Look at the Berahino situation at West Brom for the last year.Hes said he wants to play football and leave to do that and even Klopp as said that it's probably best he moves on.I can't see what more anyone can do apart from meet they're valuation.If that is the case but no one really knows what's happening.

we are acting like a small club with the antics at the moment. there is nobody else out there that will suit our play and has the pedigree of Benteke. all the others linked are frankly smalltime
if we are willing to make a bid of the butusay for the same pricei, who is unproven in the epl, surely we should make the realistic bid now for Benteke. all this so called brinkmanship could loose us a player that will score 15 goals at least to Everton or West ham. i do not understand. it is hardly ideal preparation. the quicker we get him the better to get him trained up in our system etc...
