Wanted by some, but not really needed,as they have no effect on results whatsoever.

Looking forward to next season now. Singing behind the goal, bring it on.

SP’s programme notes make it absolutely clear that the players want and need the HF... “because [it makes them]they play better...” He acknowledges it was a difficult decision and respects that a few people have had to sacrifice a few seats. However, it is now clear from those at the top, the management, the players and a HUGE section of fans that the HF are wanted and needed. to all the Nigel’s!!!! In his next programme notes could Parish explain, if that's the case, why our home form so poor.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Hmmm, the 'HUGE' number you are talking about on here I would say 50/50. In the Holmesdale lower tier, who I've spoken to I would say the majority are against them. Not for the noise they create nor the fact that they remain standing. I like to stand in front of my seat too, as do many fans. Its about personal preference. No the main reason people dislike them that I keep hearing is their attitude towards other fans. A belief they somehow seem to be above everyone else because they sing, wear uniform black, turn their backs to the game and have a flag. They may publically and officially trot out the line that they dont but the reality is that they have become big for their boots and the bullying/intimidation of fellow fans should not be ignored, swept under the carpet, denied as many people thatr love them keep trying to do.

Not at all. I'd tend to turn that on its head and suggest you are magnifying the impact of HF in your own head and blowing it out of proportion. Then you are wrong I have stood in whichever section was the main singing section since the 1960s. There have been some very loud times. But we have never, ever, before had singers that carry on for multiple rounds of each song back to back. I do remember Red and Blue Army for 20 minutes at a time for example, but not 90 minutes with a dozen songs and no respite other than during specific big matches. Good examples include the ZDS cup, first FA cup final, Villa Park semi final, the 5-0 against Man Utd in 72 (my feet literally not touching the ground it was so cramped) and my personal favourite of Blackburn in 1989. But let there be no mistake, it wasn't orchestrated, it happened during success and massive games. It wasn't kept up because there was no organisation. It died off as quickly as it came. Not so with the HF.

I've been a prawn sandwich chomping Nigel since 1968.And I would have thought players earning millions of £s should be expected to give their best anyway.
