That's exactly what he is doing; stealing wages & someone else's place in the team.

How about we try something radical…

Andros on the left and wilf on the right. Tekkers in the middle. Both wingers with enough skill and pace to either take on there man/men or god forbid, put a first time cross in. This would also hopefully help ward out as fingers crossed the defender and midfielder on his side would be keeping more of an eye on our biggest threat making our right back issues since AWB left a bit less of a problem.

Watch how many goals Man City score from a simple tap in because there wide players get crosses/first time passes into the danger areas. You can literally see the forward players queuing up. If tekkers still can’t put away the chances then give Wickham or Ayew or any of the youth strikers a go but, please Roy, play our wide players as wingers and show some attacking initiative.

We have plenty of options with defensive midfielders, so let them do there job and let wilf and andros supply the ammunition. The way we look at the moment we have nothing to lose by giving this a go.

Also, I’ve read a few posts about Luka on here, about not looking good etc. Same was said last season about him and look how much we needed him. Ended up being one of the players of the season. Think he is just a slow starter at the start of a season.

Yes I think delivering service to Benteke as much as possible (and fvck the 250 Zaha step overs in dribbles to the near post before losing it every match) is possibly Roy’s only chance of saving his and our skin. He should’ve been adding this into the mix anyway. We can still pass the ball around, just now and then not wait for the oppo to get everyone behind th ball every time we have it, which actually meant EIGHT players defending or confronting our ONE player with the ball in the box seeing as we had SIX fvcking players around the centre circle marking TWO Sheff Utd players.

Unless we get a loan striker in then this is our only option to add to some of the good stuff in 2 x one minute spells v Everton and nothing to mention v Sheff Utd.

I know we start slowly and Zaha needs to clear his head, but those were long term players yesterday and last season’s v Everton and although I’m not surprised as I predicted 0-1 points after 4 games, it’s still unacceptable.

Think you will find that Man City have 11 world stars on the pitch plus they get midfielders into the box. We have just Benteke who sometimes gets into the box because of the way he’s told to play with no service whatsoever. He won’t score goals the way we (Hodgson) uses him. I can’t tell anymore if he is any good or not? Wickham would also have the same problems. If anything we saw the other week that Ayew and Benteke got more of the ball. That may have helped because our back four didn’t play so deep as they did for the whole match yesterday for which Hodgson/Lexington never changed the tactics throughout - unbelievably :-(

That was my point. We can’t change players now until January, we have nothing to lose (can’t possibly worse than yesterday) and everything to gain.

Tekkers confidence is shot to sh*t and no amount of money can buy that. It’s no use moaning about how much the fella earns, just need to find away to get him scoring (which Big Sam did).get the ball in nice and quick. The bloke has played and scored for his country, was wanted by all the big boys when he was at villa, it’s all about confidence I’m sure a couple of scruffy goals will get him going.

For the record, I’m not a big fan of Tekkers, but while he is wearing the red and blue I’d rather see the team set up to try and get him firing again.

Honestly, the way we set up, shearer, Owen and Henry would struggle.

I agree, the management has no plan B. And your right of course about Man City, but the principal is the same from champions league to Sunday league, decent amount of crosses and balls into the box will equal more goals. Man City just do it incredibly well.

Its seems that we blame the service to Tekkers for him not scoring, but with the same service Batashui came in and did the job perfectly well in the same position.

At the end of the day Wilf need to play on the left and Roy needs to stop expecting Tekkers to score when he is sat up front on his own with 5 defenders around him.

It hasnt worked for 2 years so why is going to work now ?.

I’ve watched every premier league game we have played under Roy and I don’t think we have played with a natural right footer on the right and left on the left ever. The way we played with bats worked the way we are set up now but he’s not here and tekkers is. The point I was trying to make is that we are where we are with the players we have, does it not make sense to try something else? I’ve been a fan for as long as I can remember (since the days of cannon and Sansom etc) but I don’t want to watch this dross for much longer. It’s bloody depressing, I can honestly say that Sunday was the worst I’ve seen us play in a long time.

It is the service at fault and comparing him to Bat is silly they play different type of game.

The current tactics are not fit for Benteke and with him having such low confidence as well that wont help.

Roy needs to change things otherwise no point playing Benteke.

The other thing which is annoying is Roy has him coming back all the time defending as well and when he gets in oppositions box Zaha every time slows things up having to take players on with the over the top tricks rather then whip in quick balls

when Big Sam was in charge he stopped this it was all balls go forward and quick direct balls thats why we started seeing Benteke scoring again.

Not all is awful slow play and players messing about with the ball always coming inside then wondering why their is no space or losing the ball.

Small and super quick seems to be the name of today’s game in attack. Big 6’4” lanky players are no longer cutting it.

Benteke did sod all yesterday, as did others.

However, the number of times where we were on an 'attack' (we had the ball in their half) and Benteke was the only person in the Sheff Utd box, with 4/5 defenders around him, was incredible.

Which one of our midfielders is looking to make a run into the box and take a defender's attention?

Exactly. eight goals in our final 2 games of last season with Benteke not playing a minute
