Meanwhile the National Sports Centre continues to fall down.

Maybe Boris could overrule the LDA and push for the Crystal Palace site to be redeveloped?
He has a track record as London Mayor for ignoring NIMBYs and getting progress done.
There is little point in keeping CPP as it is when it is just full of dog s*** and used syringes. Who wants that?
Its obvious the local residents don't want a football club but if first plans are simply put in place to just do SOMETHING with the site then maybe the local football club moving there would be less terrifying to them if they also knew that the entire infrastructure of the area would improve, house prices would go up, all the latest available sound proofing from the stadium on matchdays to be installed to protect residents peace, park and ride systems put in place. A ban on a certain number of cars in the area on match days.
To me all this sounds attractive if I lived up there but sadly there seems to be so much opposition from so many different people. Will never happen I know.

Stewart plastics site off purley way by ikea is being demolished , its half down, big site, great access for m25 and once we get rid of the ikea training centre, which is a two storey 40 foot long building, we got loads of space for the new stadium, i think steves sniffing around, just by ikea towers

Not sure it’s great access to and from the M25. If you mean Purley or Croydon junction you have traffic held up at the first junction to turn to Wallington where the MacDonalds drive thru is, then another towards fiveways, then long traffic problems at the top of Purley way playing fields all the way down to the traffic funnelling into 3 lanes everyone’s fighting for in Purley. Then a bit of wrestling on the Brighton Road for a while before it finally isn’t bumper to bumper any more.

There would need to be park and ride.

No chance it will ever happen. The site is too small, in a very busy road that struggles to cope with existing traffic already, also in a main shopping area. The only decent public transport is the tram, have you ever tried getting there from M25 on a Saturday, it takes about an hour.

ok, maybe not a new nou camp, just an emirates would suffice!and already served by the tram, the ideas growing on me, shame im gona have to split my share for the plan with the original guy on here who suggested it back in the day!I was merely adding that stewart plastics has finally got the bulldozers in past couple of weeks, and is disappearing fast, and is actually a lot bigger site than one might think!

I hate to micturate in your French fries, but where would the money come from? Certainly not from any of the current three majority owners. They won't now fund one stand, let alone a whole stadium, even if it were a realistic plan.

Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing!

Well, sell the ground, and new investors when the american boys kick us in to touch! But, its only a dream to be fair, but its an idea if ikea folds, paint the famous towers red and blue, have crystal palace written on them for whole of south london to see, well, croydon anyway, but i won"t hold my breath, would be happy with a new stand at selhurst!
