There's plenty of money in war.

And you're a war monger just like your political favourite Blair.

I don't care much who runs any state, or local authority. What I care about is that they do so with common sense, and never just with a rigid application of ideological politics. That requires assessing the local situation and its needs.

I am not able to form any kind of judgement over the situation in Seattle. I have no knowledge of it and am surprised that anyone posting here does have.

What is obvious in the video clip is that the presenter appears to have got her job more on appearance than ability. She isn't the first bimbo to appear to know what she is talking about and be asked to throw scraps out to an already wound up and biased group of viewers. Viewers who doubtless get really enraged at the sight of a thief just walking about of the door with a big TV and fail to hear the narrative that he was arrested and has mental health issues. You don't handle the mentally ill by confrontation, and then just put them in jail. They need assessment and then help.

My comment was about appeasement, which has been shown to result in more war, and not less.

I loath war. It is always a bad outcome. Sometimes though aggression needs to be resisted if an even worse result is to be avoided.

You get what you deserve. If the people of Seattle and Washington State in general are happy with this level of criminality so be it.

And for those who aren't there's always Texas.

I don't see why the UK should take the lead on this. Plenty of countries nearer Russia are keeping their heads down e.g. Germany.

I am fed up fighting other people's wars, we never get any thanks anyway, all we get are the body bags.

And I heard yesterday we have a smaller navy than Italy- soon just 15 frigates and destroyers, and the army is just 74000, about the capacity of old trafford ffs!

That suits me as long as the government realises we are not the World Policeman. I would be happy giving our seat up on the security Council, nothing but trouble.

I may have missed a step are the left in favour of war and beefing up our armed forces? It's a strange world these days.

Germany is where the waft of appeasement seems to emanate. They need the new pipeline. Putin knows they need it, so is twisting the knife into the Nato split.

We have the Russian money financing the Tory party restraining us. So we won't be putting any boots on the ground. Leaving it to those in Nato prepared to do something. Which won't be many. I cannot imagine the USA doing very much. It would be very badly received at home. So appeasement seems the likely route, unless Putin pushes for the big prize, which the threatened sanctions should stop. Until the next time.

Presumably there is a limit to the number of times the boys can be brought home after being defeated by some motley crew like the Taliban (twinned with Charlton).

Despite having a military arsenal you would think would devastate the planet with corresponding costs, they don't seem to win a thing and the present incumbent of the presidential chair ends up having to explain.

The decision by parliament here to stop Cameron going into Syria is the only good thing that has happened for the last 10 years.

Proof is emerging that the Clinton campaign spied on Trump, apparently both as a candidate and then as president.

These claims were called 'conspiracy theories' while Trump was in office.....and even now the Democratic media chooses not to tell the Democrats who watch them the truth.

Apparently more Democrats watch Tucker Carlson than CNN.

I think most can agree upon and support any condemnation of the Taliban however as always some people have to take it just a step too far.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

As I have little doubt that every "campaign" tries to obtain information on their opponents there really isn't anything to see here, other than an attention seeking, right wing, sensationalist presenter doing what he always does. Spin stories to suit an agenda. There's nothing new here. Trump complained because it suited him to present himself as a victim. When you have shown yourself to the world as someone prepared to ignore the democratic process to retain power you, or those who feed off you like Carlson, have no right to complain about being investigated.

What's more serious is that the US security forces were concerned about Trump, seeking intelligence on him and passing their findings on to the civil authorities. Where they are in process, facing obstructionism and prevarication, but slowly edging their way to the courts.
