If we hadn’t had the lockdown and you had a heart attack this morning then you may not be typing ever again. Lockdown or no lockdown is the only option where we are now.

Sorry to be so blunt but why we’ve had lockdown or no lockdown as the only option is another issue. The hospitals really are full and that’s a big part of the decision.

Further, apart from Germany who are light years ahead of us in many things and Sweden which is completely different to a ALL London Boroughs, Birmingham, Manchester etc, I don’t know who you’re comparing us to apart from South Korea monitoring people on their phones, China lying, or Japan who are again on another planet in terms of preparation and obedience for anything really.

I can’t understand your keenness for everyone to get out there when you’re prepared for an indefinite lockdown, unless I have that wrong.

You have made many assumptions there and there are few I agree with.

It's fine, we will see.

I heard that dr sarah say yesterday that she expects elderly people to be free to go out once we’re on the other side of the curve at its symmetrical lowest. If it peaks they’ll be advised to stay in again.

I’m expecting the lockdown to end when we’re on the part of the curve they’re waiting for, not a specific date in an ever changing situation.

I don't see the sense in vulnerable people going out and mingling until there is a vaccine myself.

Just as much as it doesn't make sense to me for young people, not in contact with the vulnerable, staying in.

Apart from the heart attack scenario they’re all true.

There’s no disputing that a lockdown is damaging to the economy. If you want the hospital situation out of control then we end the lockdown. If you wait weeks until the curve flattens then it looks if we’re in a better position. I expect we’ll get our wish soon. In the meantime loads more people aren’t croaking it leading to more and more and more.

But you are prepared for an indefinite lockdown but want the country back out there?

1. Sort of agree in terms of minimising risk or stopping very non essential trips and journeys and things.

2. That’s all in the keeping a lid on the whole situation rather than just young people mixing with old people.

I don't think nature needs 5G for viruses.

If it was 5G, wouldn't we have massive numbers of cases affecting all ages?

If it is I might burrow in with the foxes when the nukes start trading.

Within a couple of weeks we had 33 thousand beds allocated for this virus. The response we have undertaken has already affected other health services anyway and the recession is going to affect those in the future for far longer.

As for my ideas on the lockdown? My lockdown would have only have been limited at the start. We have gone over my ideas and timescales but there will be many ideas ones out from those far far more qualified than me which differ from the government.

It's something that only time and analyses will show....if that's permitted to be as free as it should be.

It will be a big talking point very very soon, although the BBC may not comply.

There’s already been arguments between Sunak and Matt Hancock and I don’t believe it’s a false rumour.

The BBC have gone full brown nose....a non cynical reading would be that's purely on perceived health and a more cynical view....
