Genuine question for you lot - is there anyone in the current Labour Party that you would actually consider voting for if they were leader?

Labourites on social media blaming everyone but themselves. Sigh.

As mentioned up thread - there is a big gap between the member and electorate thinking.

I cant think of anyone...if David Milliband came back i think he'd be a good leader...but he's earning shyteloads elsewhere as part of the capitalist money machine..

John Mann and Caroline Flint were probably the most Tory-lite candidates. Both gone now.

I hope Flint gets back as she has her head screwed on properly....as well as having something about her.

Corbyn's cabinet is full of those signed up to his programme so there's little policy wise that someone on the right could vote for.

That said, and I think I've mentioned this before, the Labour front bench politicians I'm most impressed with intellectually are Keir Starmer and Barry Gardiner.

Yeah Kier Starmer is v good. Think he’ll put himself forward for next leader too.

The Labour Party really need to have a good long hard look at themselves and realise what they have to do to make themselves electable. It’s people like you guys they need to convince, not us younger soft lads

Correct. Obviously you failed to read below the line. 95% in fact.

So it is ok to choose which way to vote on one issue then?

Well I view social liberalism as inherently destructive to social order and some neo liberalism as too nihilistically individualistic for social good either.

So I'm twenty years too far gone for any moderate Labour politician.

Still if I put a Labour hat on, I can see a battle emerging within the party between Corbyn's momentum backed wing and the remaining moderates.

I think it might come down to Starmer v McDonnell......Though you're bound to get some of the useless bints like Thornberry put herself forward.....She's about as likeable as terminal syphilis.

Still, she fits the momentum doctrine quite nicely.

Watching what happens in Labour will be genuinely interesting.

He might be a man of erudition but he has that deadpan expression that never changes and appears to have undergone a charisma by-pass procedure.Never seen the chap smile or show a modicum of emotion.

This is what depresses me about modern politics. Personality over substance.

Neither of which Corbyn possesses nor certain members of his front bench.

In terms of Starmer, I did comment that he was a man of erudition.
