Sadly and likely that the English clubs who want him will leave it as late as possible.
In the event that happens we can only hope that SP tells them where to go as if he is going to leave then we need the cash way in advance of the season starting to reinvest it.

Maybe we should have an auction on June 12th? Or a bring and buy sale?

Swap deals reported are always too good to be true. The (had too much) Sun reports United want Wilf and AWB and are willing to offer Pogba, Lukaku and the drummer from Spandau Ballet.

My concern would be that whoever we sign to replace Wilf will always struggle. Partly because whoever it is won't be as good as or better than Wilf nor will he (or she - I'm in recruitment and have to be partial) be as loved by the Palace crowd, so the majority of us will get on his back.

I am hoping for the money to be spent not on a replacement for Wilf, but for top choices elsewhere on the pitch: New Striker / Creative Midfielder and new Left Back. You would still have the same problems as above, but the expectation of filling the shoes left by Wilf is much lower (because filling Benteke's shoes is really not so hard).

We can then look to trial young blood on the wing or take someone like Ollie Watkins from Brentwood as a prospect.

So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet.

Good post. Only a shame that after buying 2 left backs when we should’ve bought one or two thoroughly scouted and on lower wages 6 months earlier, we’re now talking about that area as being weak, which I agree it is. It’s vulnerable, targeted and we get broken down there.

Are Palace supporters really that crap?

Anybody that "gets on a players back" just because he isn't someone else ought to be strung up by his gonads

I actually think that had a great deal to with it. Palace fans didnt think he was good enough before they even saw him play, and i think alot of that was because he dislodged a fan favourite from his position.

In regards to Wilf, i tend to agree that any replacement will not get the "freedom" the fans give Wilf. If he messes up, he gets no stick, same as if he has a bad game. Hes the only player in our squad whos almost immune from criticism. Whoever replaces will be compared to him constantly rather than being judged on his own merits, and wont have the creative freedom to try things.

Complete rubbish.

So it had nothing to do with speroni flapping around in the air like a baby bird?

Have you forgotten Townsend getting coated off rotten on here and whenever anyone nicked the ball off him?

And I suppose Benteke gets stick because he isn’t Murray, AJ or Ian Wright, and nothing to do with being lazy and chipping in with 2,goals a season?

You've completely lost me. I wasn't discussing the reason as to way Hennessey took Speroni's place, I was simply saying, that in certain areas there was most definitely people acting/behaving/speaking less favourably towards Hennessey due to their loyalty to Speroni.

The rest of the twoddle you've written is irrelevant because none of those players have had a relationship with the fans like Speroni and now Wilf, apart from to an extent Ian Wright until he kissed the Arsenal badge at Selhurst and burnt the bridge with the fans.

Andros Townsend got stick on here because in his first season he was an absolute let down, he even said himself he was giving 100%.
But again that point is irrelevant because im discussing a player replacing a club legend, not just playing poorly.

They are all put off by the fact he is on £130,000 a week and the club wants at least £60million. Only a few clubs in Europe can afford him. This means he will still be with us next season. COYP

Where does it say he WANTS to go? All ive seen/heard/read was the interview he gave saying he'd like to play CL football like any othe footballer. It was the media that twisted his comments to make up a story.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
