Thanks for all the good wishes and speech advice. My real problem is she is marrying an Evertonian

There’s a joke there about her making a new signing? Or about whether there's a release clause.

Unfortunately I agree. My daughter is getting married today so at least I have the worry of making my speech to keep my mind occupied
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

There will be signings today but who they are is a different matter altogether. I doubt it very much . Maybe a new tea lady in the canteen or hairdresser for Steves syrup, but that's about it . We done well to hang on to what we got . IMO

Congratulations to her Spiderman and how thoughtful of her not to get hitched on a match day thus avoiding half the guests standing at an angle trying to check their phones throughout. But they will be checking the transfer pages! Thoughtless really picking today. I have never really forgiven my nephew for choosing to be christened at the same time as England winning the semi final in the rugby world cup in 2005.

IMO I thought Steve sent his syrup out once a week to be dry cleaned? Out going more of a concern as click bait still lingering a hope Guehi will be poached. Otherwise, the media claim or window is poor and represents standing still. I could not agree less. We were clearly seen as player rich / cash poor and vulnerable for exploitation. However, if we fend off all approaches, that sends a signal that we are not a selling club and/or testing ground for the big boys. More importantly, once players come, they actually want to stay.

You are right. Whilst I am moaning about the lack of new players it is an achievement that we have managed to hold onto our best ones. We have sent a message to the big boys if you really want them you will have to pay top dollar. That also sends a message to our players as well. It is nice to be linked to a top 6 club but how badly do they want you if they are not prepared to pay top dollar. or do they want you as a bench warmer. Getting Olise to sign a new contract told the other players that unlike Chelscum our club saw him as a key player. He may go next season but if he does the buying club will have to make it clear they see him as a major signing.
