What about price competition. A consumer won't be prepared to pay more when he can get the same for less down the road.

There is obviously a limit to undercutting determined by costs.

This election has just got interesting really quickly.

Labour are now polling on the same figures as Blair's majority government. Their manifesto has symbolically crushed the ghosts of Blair while Corbyn himself is whipping up political crowds unheard of in this country's recent history.

Meanwhile, the Tories, while significantly ahead, are falling apart. May can't even confirm who her chancellor will be, yet she's standing on a strong and stable platform! They've alienated huge numbers of journalists, as well as their one main demographic: pensioners. The neoliberal wing of the party are s***ting it about the immigration cap's effect on the economy, the whole manifesto seems totally uncosted, and suddenly life long tory voters are pledging for Labour.

If punk ever happened I'd be preaching the law, instead of listenin to Lydon lecture BBC4

Shadow Chancellor on means testing the fuel allowance:
[Labour] "won't put older people through the indignity of losing their winter fuel allowance when they are already, too many of them, living in deep poverty and sadly some die of hypothermia."
This when all the Tories are proposing is that the likes of Alan Sugar don't get bunged £200 when the don't need it. Those who do need it will still get it.

It has been said many times (although not lately I admit) so I'll type it in caps so it sinks in.

IT WILL COST MORE TO ADMINISTER THAN IT WILL SAVE.

Looks like by the way he dressed his parents can afford to buy it for him!

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

Ha ha.

OK, so your argument is about degree.
It's a bad Idea and not a very bad idea.

You could have 0.01% inflation vs 1%. The points Cambridge is making I didn't like the idea of in 2008 for a few years but it is more appropriate now because there is consistent growth worldwide, room for expansion here, and monetary policy tools at the chancellor's disposal to counteract the negative effects of government spending/borrowing.

Nerk.

So Labour are going to win are they? Do you want a bet on it?

But that is not businesses charging what they want/what they think customers will pay (what you said). That is determining price by profit margin, which is what you said they don't do these days.

No they don't. Businesses generally try to squeeze the competition by price.
