Dougie Freedman - I remember witnessing his debut goal against Stoke City during the 95/96 season, not to mention his first hat-trick against Wolves that same season. A true legend, no ifs, ands or buts!
"Look at that. Accident blackspot? These aren't accidents! They're throwing themselves into the road gladly! Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness!" |

Favourite doesn't equate to best so , although John Jackson and Kenny Sansom were the only two world-class players [ ie in the top 4 or 5 on earth ] ever on our books , my personal vote would go to Don Rogers. All those glory-hunting Chelsea/Spurs/Arsenal mates who used to tease about Palace being boring and functional had to shut it ... because we [ all too briefly mind ]had a player who was faster, more skilful and a cooler finisher than any of theirs.... who would , quite routinely , set off from the half-way line to score fabulous goals. What a shame Bert Head couldn't capture him a few years earlier.

When I was a kid my hero was Bobby Woodruff (him of the long throw) - but Jim Cannon has my vote.

For being a cut above the rest either Lombardo or Wright For being young and exciting to watch I'd say Matt Jansen But one of my all-time heroes when I was growing up and starting to go to the Palace regularly has to be Simon Rodger. Always thought he took a good corner....
