I am 100% certain that Roy would have LOST that game. I liked OG's starting line-up: speed over height. Ayew and ward are too slow to contribute to fast attackes but great bench players. Great to see OG saw that and put them on the bench where they belong, but as I said, great sub players. Roy would have started Schlupp, Ward, Ayew and we would have lost 5-0? Or 1-0? we would have lost.
Positives:
1. Glasner is the real deal (phew!)
2. Honestly, that first half, we made that Liverpool team look ORDINARY. We were passing at leisure in their six yard box. A top quality, team goal.
3. Glasner's got them defending! Hooray!
4. We should have been 2 up by half time.
5. The team has confidence and knows their shape and jobs.
6. Mateta is the real deal striker.
7. Hendo is the real deal.
8. Lerma looks a lot better in defence than in the middle and gives Mitchell time and space to attack more.
9. Anderson should be captain - not Ward - bless his socks.
10. Roy is a dinosaur.
11. Warton is the real deal and when Docoure gets back we will have an awesome midfield.
12. Hughes, a player I have denounced often as being too impotent and weak, is pulling his socks up and playing with gusto - I tip me hat to him. But keep it up! Don't go 'Ayew' on us and decide to stop playing and hide as a passenger. OG is onto that.

Why when we win a game, do people mention Europe? We have never been even close, ever before .

Actually we have, if it wasn’t for the ban we would’ve qualified in 1991

You said we would lose when Joel Ward came on too.
Odd isn't a word that describes you.
Wrong is more suitable.

Can’t wait for next season. If we could retain the stars and add to the squad I believe under Glasner it could be our best season since we got promoted. Attacking, exciting football with a solid defence these are really fantastic times.

If and add are doing a lot of heavy lifting there

After all the euphoria of the win, I was reflecting on how JPM is having such a positive effect. One could argue that he was much more impactful than any Liverpool forward today and perhaps he could have had a brace. He is now turning out to be a real problem for defenders and we saw how both Konate and Virgil van Dijk had their hand full dealing with him.

I watched Olie Watkins after our game, a completely different player to what he was a couple of years ago, maybe JPM can evolve to that level, because he has height, physicality and now showing speed (he was a bit of a carthorse previously) ..... we shall see!

I think what made the victory so sweet was that we had put ourselves ahead in a number of games against the big teams this season but could not got over the line. Liverpool at home we were 1-0 up and bossing the game and lost 2-1, Villa 1-0 and lost 3-1 and same with Spurs. One pivotal change is Glasner's use of sub's. Olise was one that looked an expected change given he was returning from injury, but bringing on Ward, Riedewald & Ayew for tiring players really helped us sure up the game and Ayew got in a crucial block towards the end. This was not happening under Hodgson.
How well did we play in the first 1/2 ? Out passing one of the best teams in Europe. Was worried about having only 1 recognised centre half but in the first half having so many players comfortable on the ball meant we could keep and use it effectively and not treat it like a hot potato despite the Liverpool pressure. Long may it continue.

Shearer on MotD was full of praise, not the usual "what went wrong for Liverpool?".
Mentioned in commentary that Eze and Olise have only started 4 games before yesterday and one or both have scored in each one.
Is it too much to hope we can hold on to them?
So good to see a Palace side passing with precision and pace, nice one touch stuff, particularly for the goal and everyone playing for each other.
And not giving it away in the last five minutes.
