Luton are a nasty little Club, who will be playing in the Championship next season.
How dare some of their players joke, about wanting to play Palace every week.Where's the respect!!
Hopefully,we may not meet them again for many, many years.

Overall it was a good performance.

Our corners looked more dangerous
Wharton kept Barkley out of the game
Wonderful goal by JP
Created a hatful of other chances
We pressed high, and kept looking for the 2nd goal

20secs away from a really dominant performance. Lots and lots of positives.

Agree with this - it bloody hurt at the time, but we win that game 95% of the time - I don't think we need to be too critical on the players or the performance.

The squad is desperately unfit, and the depth isn't there - I'd imagine Glasner has already figured both of those things out and will get to work correcting them over the summer, but we look a considerably better team already.

The optimism is that relegation, whilst not off the cards, seems a bit more unlikely. The very specific system the manager is trying to implement looks to have a least changed the identity of our team from an almost archaic and ineffective unit to one that will deliver more exciting and effective football, especially with a better quality of player.

I would struggle to think that the somewhat unforeseen arrival of a manager, with prestige and reputation from the continent, would coincide with us having no money/no intention to spend any money this summer. I am hoping that this season will end with us safe, Glasner's system will be installed and supported by the return of our best players (who are out) and further investment.

My main concern with the setup is that it may not best suit our most creative players, Eze and Olise. Their preferred positions are as a No 10 and right wing but it seems as though Glasner wants to play them as old-fashioned inside forwards. I guess time will tell and one or both may be gone in the summer, anyways

I thought Olise was left footed so is an inside forward/ inverted winger. I haven't looked it up so could be wrong.

I think that's a very valid point.

My hope is that they will buy into and adapt to it whilst retaining their individual brilliance. That's just my hope without analysing it further.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

It would appear that our squad has been assembled over the years for a very narrow 4-4-1-1 system. I’m expecting there will be some collateral damage and some moving away from under performing fringe players.

I can’t predict who out of our top performers will be here next season but expect most and the funds to buy players to strengthen the squad.

Overall expect next season to be a good one as I truly believe the manager knows our current weaknesses and will address them starting with a plan for pre season training!

I haven't looked it up either but I think I recall (a septuagenarian's memory being what it is - I might be wrong) but I think he played more centrally at Reading and preferred that position as it gave him more game involvement and goal scoring opportunities.

Personally, I think he'll be fine as "an old-fashioned inside forward" as his defensive play is adequate and his attacking skills will be even more to the fore.

As for Eze, I think he can adapt, and if he stays, that he will adapt

Hopes, if not expectations, I hold myself Houston. Time will tell.

After looking at our setup the last couple of games. I will have to differ with you and say the formation is suited perfectly for Eze and Olise. They will both have plenty of freedom and lots of chances to get central and in and around the penalty box with not as much defensive work needed.
