I have to admit, even on MoTD, I was still nervous as Olise stepped up lol

COYP!!!!

Love it and fair play to all those that travelled!

Must also admit, I’ve stayed quiet on him but it was fantastic to see Ozoh out there, most certainly a possibility we could see him more and not just wishful thinking!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Back from the game. Not down to Roy. Set us up for a 0-0 because the squad is 'paper thin'. In reality...

Turns out Henderson is not that bad. We play better without Ward's constant mistakes. Ozoh is better than Hughes, bigger physical presence, tackles well and gets forward. He won the ball back in midfield for the penalty, and was in the box giving an option for the ball in straight after. Franca looked great in the short time he was on the pitch - went past Kyle Walker with the ball at one point and not many do that. Mateta put in more of a shift than I have ever seen Edouard do.

Roy is stubborn and wont play youngsters or the players he did not buy. In reality we finished with 5 players on the pitch, who would not normally be there - and they were all outstanding. Henderson, Ozoh, Franca, Ahamada, Mateta.

Would like to see Ola-Adebomi get some game time.

Just watched MOTD - Grealish offside and Ederson should have been sent off - neither incident mentioned by the experts in the studio.

What a result and end to the game. If you were there tell us about your day.

I was there five years ago with my then thirteen year old son and it's up there with the best moments as a Palace fan.

My first trip to the Etihad today. The first 75 minutes were what I expected them to be except for the 5 minutes or so before Mateta scored. We had a rare period of possession and we began singing:

"We've got the ball; we've got the ball.." before the inevitable "we've lost the ball; we've lost the ball", but them more periods of "we've got the ball". And all of a sudden, the ball was in the net and we were back in the game.

The fans were magic; and when Olise slotted home that penalty we went wild with disbelieving joy.

I was pleased to see Ozoh given his chance. He fitted in well IMO and grew into the game. I've said before that he seems the nearest to being ready for the 1st team squad and today he showed it against the Champions. Hopefully he'll get more minutes as the season goes on.

As for Franca, his cameo was promising. on the two or three occasions he got the ball he tried to run at and through City and with some success. He seemed to worry them.

All in all, a good day out and a satisfying walk back to Piccadilly station and journey home, basking in the knowledge that we now have 2 wins and 2 draws in our last 6 visits to the Etihad

Yeah, but...Marsellus was a bitch...as Zed proved later...and you don't say that to Jules when he is pointing a gun at you. Catch 22

I would not have been unhappy if we restricted them to a 2-0 defeat but to get 2 goals with the game almost dead says a lot about the charactor of the team. Olise was up and down the pitch and was the man of the match from a Palace perspective for me. Some great performances though Henderson looks every inch a top goal keeper, thought Clyne played well, Mateta looked a threat running in behind ( where did this come from ) and defensively we were disciplined. Ozoh did the simple things well but the real course of optimism from the game was Franca's cameo. He looked at home at this level was taking on players and his pass out to Olise was pure class. If i was in charge of Palace it is would be hard to leave him out of the Brighton game.

We were like a boxer on the ropes absorbing punishment from a more powerful opponent, waiting until he punched himself out and then we struck. Franca looked very promising too as did Ozoh.

Have a day off with your usual negative stuff. Its was a nice surprise result, who cares about possession and shots etc.

You must have missed the part of my post where I praise certain players and welcome the point. Looking at the reaction of the players after Olise's penalty there is a lot of positivity to take into the next set of games.
