Yes they do,Fulham had two USA players in their side who England struggled against.Four others who went to the World Cup to our two, so our squad is not superior and yes they have all of the attributes you have listed as well.I get fed up with so called experts bigging up our squad when half of them are only Championship standard.!!

Could not agree more!

Perhaps it is just "corporate speak" whereby the man at the top talks things up even if underneath it he is fully aware of the deficiencies. I hope that is the case.

The man at the top was very unhappy yesterday - obvious for all to see.
Me thinks that PV will be having his bottom spanked today

Many would opine that I am full of old bull and short of wisdom.

If SP's argument is that the manager should have played Hughes, Luka, Riedewald, Ward, Edouard etc then I think PV will have plenty of ammunition to give back.

Any prospective manager asking about the rebuild and future of the club will get the response that there is a certain budget for the right type of player and hopes rest on the academy augmented by assiduous loans. PV must of thought about it as a project that could enhance his cv and one that he was equipped to take on, given his experience and the managers he had played under. Of course, the proof is in the pudding and as PV has discovered there isn't much in the transfer kitty, the academy isn't yet producing PL calibre players, and loans are the extent of Parish's thought process. It can't end well. We've been treading water for so long now.

You can always bank on Palace to ruin your Christmas and yesterday they delivered it in bucket loads. That was about as disappointing as I can remember from a Palace team, you would have thought 6 weeks without playing competitively in the Premiership we would have been flying out of the traps. But no, we lacked in every department.

I want to praise Fulham for their win, but I can’t we were that bad….

The comments about needing to use Luka or Hughes only serve to underline how weak the squad is.

Interesting that Vieira didn't follow his initial instinct to use Ward at centre back as he did against Man Utd at the end of last season. Perhaps Tomkins selected to nullify Mitrovic's aerial threat.

The thing is, presumably they've had weeks to prepare for this fixture. They've known Guéhi was out since November 12th, yet Tomkins looked like a player who's barely kicked a ball in years.

We just don't have depth. I agree about Luka & Hughes too. There simply isn't a selection which would have made a significant difference.

Utter Hogwash, the difference is one manager knows how to get the best of what he has, and one dosent

He was terrible. Looked as though he could barely run beyond three quarter pace. I felt really bad for him as he's been great for us.

My view is that the problem was primarily back 4 related; Clyne was poor and got taken off, Andersen was responsible for the fist goal and couldn't get into the game, Tomkins was clearly targeted and looked uncomfortable throughout, Mitchell - nothing that can usefully be added.

That said, I do think it was a one off and predict Palace will win the return fixture in 23 and there will be a big reaction against Bournemouth.

But it wasn’t a once off. We have played that bad in your last game against Forest with pretty much the exact same line up (Tomkins for Guehi). And we have other games this season where we have been shocking.

PV has to take complete responsibility for that performance because every single player was awful which says it was his tactics.
