All countries are suffering from a shortage of staff - partly because of a lack of foresight; partly for having ditched as many staff as they could and partly because there are fewer people wanting these jobs having been let go in the manner that they were.

I just flew from Paris CDG. The airport was in chaos. No system. French,UK, EU, USA, Africa all in the one line. My flight was held back for 30minutes to wait for passengers. About 20 people didn't make our flight. That's relatively usual for there, usually due to some strike or another. Someone has died at Gatwick who didn't get assistance - that's absolutely disgraceful. I am flying from Dublin soon. Can't wait. I've changed to Knock or Shannon where I can.

Flew from Faro to LGW this morning, mahoosive queues, BUT, all at the Jet2 desks(6/7 flights) media were all over it like a rash, our check in, brilliant. Passport control, meh, lots of people(families) & EU gates empty(with staff) bout 5mins in, opened all gates to clear, worked. Arrived LGW North, no probs whatsoever.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

They take one passenger at a time and the poor gentleman decided not to wait. Unfortunately some of the escalators at NT are quite steep.

You"re not wrong about steep spider, about 10 years ago i was coming up one after getting off the plane and an old couple were about 20 steps in front, i was looking back thinking these are a bit steep. when the old man fell back and rolled and rolled until i stopped him, he cut his head open and his hand was bloody, i thought these escalators are dangerous!

There's an escalator at Waterloo the bloke in front was drunk and had a rucksack as we got near the top he toppled backwards into me luckily my mate who was behind me and a lump anticipated it and as I and this guy fell backwards braced himself and stopped us falling. I pushed the guy back up and he was so so drunk he glared at me as though I had done something wrong. If my mate hadn't been there I think we both could have had serious injuries.
