They thought they could turn him into the next Trent, defensively sound especially in his first 2 seasons, won more tackles than anyone in the league. He hasn't made the progress going forward, struggles once he crosses the half way line, when I've watched him play he also struggles with his positioning, getting caught out with the runner behind him time and again. Man. Utd will be lucky to get £20 million for him, and he needs to play for a defensive based team, where the emphasis is not him to attack going forward. Good points. I agree.

Awb is not going to accept less than his current wage of £90,000 per week, why should he? Stated many times he is not coming back here.

So he spends the whole of next season and possibly the season after sitting around not even be on the bench? I’m guessing he would rather play football and accept a wage that is more than most of us even dream of.

I agree and I'm sure I read in another thread that someone spoke with Dougie whilst in Oz and he said AWB wasn't coming back but he was more excited by the future potential in Nathan Ferguson. Hopefully this suggests that the Club believe that Ferguson can put his injuries behind him and start to fulfill his potential. Fingers crossed!

Not that long ago AWB was playing in the England U 21 team if he has any aspirations of getting involved with the National team set up again he needs to be playing regularly -Sitting on the bench at Man U wont cut it.

Would you be happy to halve your wages and have to perform to a high level or be critically taken apart by fans or do a bit of training and get your full wage? Money is most footballers motivation.
