I started this thread a year ago because I was smitten by the way she played, and eventually won, the US Open. Her tennis was quite remarkable. But, boy, has she hit the buffers. Won virtually nothing since although she's made a huge amount of money with sponsorship deals. Surely the sponsors will lose interest if she doesn't regain some form. It's going to take a lot of effort for her to start winning and I'm beginning to think she'll just be a one hit wonder.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Why do that right after you win an open?

I look forward to explaining her to my grandchildren in however many years time as she appears on a 'Celebrity' version of some cr@p TV show.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Her exit from the US Open means she will now plummet down the rankings. She won't even be the British #1; will be replaced by Harriet Dart, I believe. Edited by YT (01 Sep 2022 1.56pm)
