People with learning disabilities? What actually is the rationale for moving to this system? Why is this system with all the palaver it causes preferable to getting a physical card? Took me a while today and was about to go over to club when I thought, 1 more go and there was my season ticket. Why it wasn’t there when I looked earlier I don’t know - grrrr! Also just had a visit from my neighbour who is having problems and he has an iPhone 6 which must be why he can’t download. Seems rubbish that it’s all geared to newer models for which many don’t have? What a palaver :-(

Seems rubbish that it’s all geared to newer models for which many don’t have? What a palaver :-( If you read the release, it's a phased roll out to accounts over the course of the day. Not all tickets are landing at once, either due to technical reasons or something else. This is fairly standard practice. In reply to some of you who are wondering how you can share tickets if you are going to miss games and want to pass onto a mate – there is a hack until it becomes clear... Simply log in to the Palace app using the persons login details that you're borrowing the ticket off and download to your wallet. Now obviously, you don't want to share this with any old random but as a temp fix you can technically have an unlimited number of season tickets on your phone using this method.
Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons. |

In fairness I was replying to the general theme of the thread at the time which was mainly people complaining about the season not appearing in their app wallet. Although the number of fans without access to both a smartphone AND and printer is surely less than 5%, basically the club should be allowing season cards to be used for one more season to smooth the changeover. Gives enough time for people without access to the above to prepare and work it out. As vaccine passports are coming in, plus COVID still hanging around, and the PL directive regarding digital ticketing, all PL clubs are having to move to this model. It's not specific to Palace. It's also inevitable... personally considering how long QR codes, smartphones and contactless technologies have been knocking around I'm surprised it's taken this long for it to come into play. And finally – this won't be happening every game. Once the season has been downloaded onto a smartphone, that's it for the rest of the season. Phone out of pocket, hold to contactless reader, enter. Done. Edited by SW19 CPFC (09 Sep 2021 4.16pm)

Edited by SW19 CPFC (09 Sep 2021 4.16pm) There are clearly hundreds - perhaps thousands - of people who are feeling irritable/angry/furious about what is going on, and I don't want to show irritability towards another poster. But I am becoming fed up with people who suggest it's all quite straightforward and say things such as the above - "Once the season has been downloaded onto a smart phone..." I DO NOT HAVE A SMARTPHONE AND I HAVE NO WISH TO OWN ONE. And nobody at the Club seems to give a stuff.

On the Palace Website: The turnstiles at Selhurst Park will open at 10:30 BST on Saturday before the meeting with Tottenham Hotspur, with plenty of great deals on food and drink. With the action getting underway at 12:30 BST, get to the ground in plenty of time to take advantage of special discounts. Grab an ‘Early Bird’ meal, including a Burger or Hotdog and a beer, for just £7.00 up to 45 minutes before kick-off – a huge discount on the normal price of £10.50. Alternatively, get a meal deal (a burger, a side and any hot or cold soft drink) for just £8.50. Tickets are still available for the fixture - find out more by clicking HERE.
Tickets for this game are on sale at Category A prices. When purchasing online, tickets are sold as e-tickets. These tickets can be shown on your mobile phone, or printed if you prefer (follow the fold lines and keep it dry).
I'm so Palace I don't even know it |
