I don't think I have ever said this before, but this is the first time in my life where I am just not looking forward to a derby game aginst Brighton. Usually I would be looking forward to this fixture months in advance, yet I can barely muster the energy to watch 90 minutes of us in our two banks of 4 defending stance.

Naturally I will watch it,I'm like a Palace junkie, I can't miss my fix.

I hope I am so, so wrong, and that we will be able to scavenge a point, but I just can't see it at all....

Sums up my feelings as well mate. Hoping as always for a good performance followed by a win but expecting a loss.

We just have to not lose, don't care how we go about it the point or points are more important than ever from this game!

Agree, respect the point. With the injuries we have a draw would be like a victory.

We really need to show heart. There can be no excuse if not. If we lose, we have to go down really fighting. I think most of us will accept the result if we try really hard.
Hope the ref/VAR does not shaft us either. That would be hard to take.
All form and even hard reality aside, we are usually better when our backs are against the wall. That gives us some hope surely.

I'd take a draw tonight in a heartbeat.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Don’t think I’ve not looked forward to a match as much as I have for this one and the Fulham one coming up. I can see heavy defeats in both I’m afraid. However, I shall be watching and cheering my team on as I do always. And whatever division we are in next season I shall be in my lower holmesdale seat. Let’s hope I’m wrong and we give it a go and that whatever tonight’s result we give a great performance 🔴🔵

Brighton full of passion 3, Palace passionless 0.

If we lose but give 100%, then applaud, applaud and, applaud again.

The closer it gets to kick off, the more certain I feel that we are going to get well and truly beaten.

If so, I suspect HOL be awash with snarling Rottweilers with dripping fangs and fury spat forth akin to sparks from a welder's torch.

Tonight's match report

5 mins

At a corner Dunk rises like a salmon at the far post and powers the ball into the net past the despairing hands of.... the Brighton goalkeeper. Best OG of the season.

0-1 Palace.

6-90 mins
It's like the Alamo, the Palace goal leads a charmed life wave after wave of Brighton attacks are beaten off and Palace haven't had a single chance on goal.

Injury time
The Brighton no 9 is clean through he must score only to be brought down in the area by our keeper the clearest penalty this season. Unfortunately the referee had something in his eye and didn't see it, never mind that's what VAR is for.

There is a long wait before the ref is told that VAR headquarters lost all pictures just as the incident happened and so it's the ref's call. Meanwhile a Palace fan nonchalantly walks away from the ground quietly slipping a pair of wire cutters into his pocket.

FT
0-1 to Palace the Brighton players are in uproar and 3 of them are sent off after the game. In the pressie Roy praises the lads and says we were unlucky not to score more.

Well we can dream can't we

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
