If that's a true quote it cant be easy to see especially if you have only just arrived & expected a bit of a honeymoon period, sounds like he is quite a long way down the pecking order, cup games perhaps ?

If this is a real quote then I think that says a lot about Moyes' man management and his view of his scouting team. Maybe Parish was having a laugh after all and Downes was a red herring to stop Spam stealing all our targets

It is a genuine quote though perhaps taken a little out of context / edited for more dramatic effect here some links But in general the spirit of this thread is right - he's unlikely to get much game time because currently he is not good enough - and because West Ham are buying more and more players Doesn't sound like it was a bad one to miss out on Downes at this point - they'll probably be trying to loan him to us next week
