Canterbury Palace Whitstable 21 Jan 21 9.48am | |

I'm hearing from my source that the medical issue will blight his career and potentially lead to him spending half of every season injured. As such the delay in announcing was due to us trying to tie him down to a longer deal.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

I wonder if we will get a quote from Roy saying " delighted to have him here, we have been monitoring him for some time". I dont recall him being too enthused when Eze signed.

Good to have him onboard, even if only for the rest of the season. Hopefully Bats will return to Chelsea, nothing against him but it hasn't worked out this time. It always gives a lift of sorts when a new signing is made. But we really have to consider that the reason Bats is not clicking is as much to do with the teams inability to support a player like him.

Another striker that will be wasted under Roys way of playing. We currently have two strikers from the best international team yet they can't do anything for Palace that just shows something is wrong with the setup and it doesn't help when every week same old slow defensive midfielders with no creativity. So on that I don't see the point of this signing unless they think they can make profit from this guy when selling on.

Welcome, bienvenue Jean-Phllipe. He is a big lad you can imagine him putting himself about. Shame no partisan crowd cheering him on, on his debut. A statement of intent from SP, good to see.

So what swung it for Mateta to choose Palace as the PL club to come to? "I spoke with Roy Hodgson on the phone. He spoke French - good French. This manager is a good trainer." He won't fall into the same trap as others who have spoken French among themselves in RH's hearing. Welcome J-P. It will be interesting to see how quickly you can Finally, it's heartening that we have been tracking this lad for some time. He may actually get a real chance to show what he can do.
