IF they achieve 500 miles thats a great step forward, but i am sceptical as it more than doubles the best real world mileage achievable now. With you on that last part.

40k dollars I heard. Far too expensive for the likes of me. I think it's going to take some time yet until economies of scale mean that electric is the main car on the roads.

Malaysia returns 42 containers of 'illegal' plastic waste to UK This is not the first time I have heard of this. Apparently the waste is supposed to be recycled that doesn't mean you dump it in somebody else's backyard. This is the dirty little secret that councils don't want us to know. Most of us are trying to put the stuff in the right bin however in many instances the market for recycled waste has collapsed so what do they do with it? If no one wants to take it off your hands you just dump it. Perhaps Greta and her friends can get involved in this with a positive campaign. The best solution of course is not to produce it in the first place. Another suggestion would be to force the producers of the waste to take it back e.g. you create 300 tonnes of plastic waste well here's 300 tons back.
