We played well. Once they were down to 10 men I knew it was going to be tough as we do struggle to break teams down who sit behind the ball. In saying that, we did try (33 shots, hit the woodwork 3 times). It maybe because of the opposition, but I felt like Townsend is determined to try and score long range shots in every game every chance he has. Yes, his 2 goals were great and shows he has it in him, but he does it too often and will soon get found out when teams in our league won't let him come inside. It was great to see injuries come back. I still maintain that a fit Connor Wickham could be a real asset.

We're in the 4th round and it's not like we scraped a 1-0. We bossed the game from start to end. Could be worse. Cardiff and Huddlesfield were knocked out by lower opposition and Newcastle could only muster a draw with Blackburn.

I think the reason Andros was trying his level best to score at every opportunity was the fact that 4 thousand people were calling him an "obscene hand gesturer" for 94 minutes, and he wanted to stick it to them.

That was a typical 3rd round Cup game, Grimsby defended well, but how much luck did they have? We seem to be hitting the woodwork at least a couple of times in most matches at the moment and needing 30 + attempts at goal to convert just one of them.

Still we are in the 4th round and Watford up next in the league. I want some severe retribution dished out to them next Saturday, with plenty of late tackles aimed at Capoue and Doucoure.

If they don't leave the pitch carrying a leg under their arms I'll be very disappointed

Re Sorloth ;

I actually asked Dougie Freedman about this - and he told me that Sorloth was Roy's target in the last January window.

While I remain unconvinced about DF's abilities, I don't think he can take the rap for this one if what he told me is correct.

I do think there appears to be an issue between Zaha and Meyer..

If true then Meyer really has little chance to make an impact. Unless he can link up with Zaha effectively then he may as well wear a left eye patch.

Sorloth may have been Roy's target, but was it necessary to pay so much in order to secure his services. FC Midjylland must have been laughing all the way to the bank with an 8,550,000 euro profit for the outlay of 6 months salary. Fantastic business on their part. Plain dumb on ours.

I won't repeat it here or take credit for it, but have a wander over to the BBS and look at the thread about Cornelius and Moody. Then ask yourself WTF Moody is doing here.

Totally.

If you recall, we were also in for Jordan Hugill from Preston. He went to West Ham and became their Sorloth !

Oh No! don't tell me Hennessey is being preferred to Guaita. And what the ****s the matter with the transfer window. A chance to get a decent player in the squad and we go for yet another loan deal. Crap, good luck to Bournemouth who put up the cash for him. The way it's going we shall spend 100 Mil on a new stadium and be the best in ch/ship. Get your priorities right Palace. Benteke will not change from being a lazy sod. Maybe Wickham will do a decent job, but i guess we'll keep relying on defenders to score with the odd beamer from Andros. Wan Bissaka will be gone by next season, he's too good for our shower. Wakey Wakey Palace.

At the game yesterday and watched him with neutral view as not seen him live.
He made some runs laid off quite neatly, but lacks the confidence and selflessness to be a quality striker.

Was pleasantly surprised with Ayew reminds a bit of Salah

Who was our skipper for the match? Perhaps he should have nailed any friction between Meyer and Zaha.
