Luca is looking a lot better again which is really helping and no doubt the reason for our return to defensive strength. If he passes and intercepts as he had been doing he can ping his corners into the second man every time for all I care.

Regarding the yellow card cancellations at the end of the year as I understand it, if a player is on 4 or less then the slate is wiped clean on Dec 31, which is the case for Luca and Jimmy Mac. If a player is on 5 or more they risk a 2 match ban if they reach 10 yellows before the 2nd Sunday in April, when slates are wiped clean again.

Corners are hugely over hyped, the return is painfully low for the majority of teams in fact they probably statistically help the other team more when they win back Possession and break out ..so booting the ball into any box from a corner can be very silly...especially if it's us doing it. What rubbish. If England proved anything this summer it's that set pieces and corners are enough you win matches.

The worst thing about this game is how toothless we were, how bad Wolves were, yet Roy never made a move to capitalize on their weakness, and just rolled with a continuously toothless team. Was luck we scored, well taken by Ayew but he was offside. Wickham and Meyer should have been on from the 60th, if not earlier. Does it not occur to you that we made Wolves look bad and we did score a perfectly good (on side) goal! do not understand your logic in criticising Hodgson, it was a very well deserved win by team and manager during the full 90 mins.

Apart from the result the other surprising aspect from the game was, after the “hodgson make a sub” chants he did actually make a sub, albeit after we went 1-0 up. Said to my mate after hearing our fans singing at him no chance he makes a sub now! Haven’t seen any comments from Roy referencing it yet but can imagine he was not happy with that.. Yeah, i have seen quite a few games at SP were we have had over 20 corners without getting a sniff of a goal.

Can people please explain why we actually need to buy without being rude, Wickham is extremely keen and Benteke could well come back with a little confidence, I seriously do not think we need to waste any more money. Keen doesn't cut it, Wickham has been out for 2 years and even if he can get back to where he was, that will take months. People have been putting hopes on Benteke for ages now, and he's got worse if anything. Sorloth isn't fit to wear the shirt. Ayew may have picked himself up now, but even if we can rely on him, we still need another striker.

If you look at statistics with normal teams as we are then corners especially with Palace very rarely offer much, Benteke and Dann apart with their heading ability were a threat but Murray was our last attacking player who had any consistent fun with them.

We have managed to keep away from the bottom three fairly comfortably and consistently considering our scoring problems, now that we definitely have Wickham and Benteke fighting between themselves to score we will be well clear and above Everton come the end of the season, Hodgson is making doubly sure that Wickham comes back properly this time, not like the previous mistakes.

If you're satisfied with the number of times we've failed to score this season, and all those 1-0 losses and 0-0 draws against teams that barely have to perform to fend us off, then fine - I think we've got a decent points tally despite our lack of a striker, and I would really rather we get someone in than rely on playing 6 midfielders or one of our entirely unreliable current stock. Roy is doing a great job and it's frankly unfair to leave him underequipped.
