The Zaha stat - no points from 9 games when he doesn't play would contradict your statement. I think it may be better to say our squad has quality is SOME areas but we are clearly massively reliant on a few players - Wilf and Zaha and maybe Sako are huge. Take them out and we are relegation fodder

Wilf and Zaha? I’m guessing that you also mean Sakho rather than Sako? I think we can put Tomkins alongside Sakho now in this category as he has developed massively this season. Luka, PVA, and Andros are also certainly good enough.

Stats don't tell you everything though as it wasn't the lack of Zaha playing that caused us to throw away points from winning positions in the 90th minute a couple of times

Most of our big spending is reactionary - due to not planning properly and taking a gamble.

Every season has been a struggle, a change in manager and a big player to please the fans.

Let's see. Holloway and the scatter gun approach - emberassingly buying players then saying 'no room at the inn'.
Example - In - Hunt, Kebe (never used admittedly one was injured) and then Marange sent back.
Holloway can't hack it, leaves/pushed.

Pulis - Ince, Hennersey, Ledley to name three players that didn't really inspire, character aside for Ledley.
Walks for whatever reason.

Pardew - Bentekke, one great season, Remy (who?) Adebayor!!

Big Sam - did what needed to be done for that season - pva looks a master stroke. BS - good signing but was he the only option at the time (however in hindsight i am glad).

So.. point is, we now need stability and that manager backed so he moulds his squad and we can head ina fluid direction.

Yuo get the

You may have overlooked a few 'pre-Sam' signings in your analysis:

Tomkins
Townsend
Cabaye
Kelly

...just off the top of my head.

A host of injury problems and he rarely lasts the entire game.
I suspect he will leave and probably return to France.

My dear daughter hasn't even reached that age.

Besides I have no issue 'Maturing' age wise and being 'Weathered' in the ways of the world.

We obviously need a striker, Benteke will probably go, a proper alternative goalkeeper, another quality centre half, as Dann is forever injured and Kelly is the last resort.
Obviously, signing Loftus-Cheek would be great as long as he stays fit and perhaps another midfielder since Cabaye is also a sick note and Rakip is not fancied.
We will also need back up for Ward and Bissaka beyond Kelly.

From Roy’s press conferences it would appear that he doesn’t have a lot of input into transfers.
He has said when he comes back for pre-season training he is looking for Freedman and the board to deliver a good squad with outgoing players replaced.
It is true that Freedman delivered in the championship but he is unproven at the level he is operating now and has he got the appropriate contacts globally?
I’m confident that he may be able to unearth some young players from the football league but really we need to bring in top level players to potentially replace the likes of Loftus Cheek and Cabaye.

You seem to think we can buy players, but insist they don't get injured.
Its not that simple, as I am sure you know.
