Ian Wright just said on the debate he thinks 35 points will be enough to stay up.

Btw I think Leicester will beat Saints.
Saints confidence must be shot to pieces arfter Saturday's defeat.

The Brighton/Spurs result isn't a biggy for us really and they only drew after all. They are 8 points clear and will stay up even if they don't take another point.

Stoke need a miracle to catch us.

Southampton need a freak event.

if we cannot close the deal between now and the last kick of the season, we really would not deserve to stay up. The advantage we now have is imperious. So lets command.

Check out the photo, hope it displays. It’s based on my score predictor from last 4-5 games for all teams involved in relegation battle. I think it’s going to be tight.

woah that is tight, amazing to think we could stay up on goal difference after our disastrous start,

If last-minute-defeats would result in trashed confidence Brighton would have earned 3 points last Saturday cause we hadn´t shown up.

Southampton are better than their results and for me it is purely down to confidence. Against Chelsea they worked really hard and were focused until they had a 2-0 lead to lose, then they seemed to just fall apart. Long is a pain in the a**e and Tadic has class, plus Redmond can be very dangerous. Sadly for them I think Hughes has come in too late to fix things. If they'd made a change at Christmas they may have stood a chance. Stoke shouldn't have sacked Hughes (even though I dislike him immensely) and they certainly shouldn't have hired Lambert.

Having said all that I won't sleep easy until we are mathematically safe.

So you don't think finding a new striker for next season should be a priority? Odd post.

I think I was highlighting the contradiction in your post.

Of course we need a new striker; but if you look at the table, our problem has been conceding and not scoring. Burnley shows that you can score bvgger all, but if your defence is strong you will do well.

Burnley with 33 league goals are the joint 6th lowest scorers in the PL.They have only scored more than 3 goals in a game in 2 out of their 33 PL games.

Burnley have only conceded 29 goals which is the 3rd best defensive record in the PL after Man C and Man Utd.

Burnley have received the second highest number of 'Yellows' in the PL - After W.Ham.They have no 'Reds'to their name - the only other club like this is CPFC !

I thought we played them off the park, at their place, earlier in the season.
