I believe in the guy. We didn't by a striker who was ready to star in the PL though.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Possibly the worst forward player I have ever seen in the last 50 years, that includes Tom Soares. He is a total waste of space, I watched him last night, when the ball was crossed to him, he didn’t even challenge for it. He has no control under pressure at all and is never in the right place to receive the ball.

Truly a 'not fit to wear the shirt' player - I cannot remember a Palace player with less passion and commitment. We've had plenty of donkeys down the years, but it's disgraceful to see someone make it quite so obvious that he views playing for our team as a chore. Barely presses or pressures defenders, doesn't challenge for headers - even goal-scoring opportunities in the box - and makes lazy, petulant fouls rather than accepting any sort of defensive duty. Benteke's laziness and unwillingness to put himself about pissed me off enough, but Sorloth is another level. Unless this arrogant kid gets a serious rocket up his arse soon, he'll be prancing into the CPFC Useless Striker Hall of Fame without even the qualification that he tried to put some effort in.

I believe we paid £9 Mill with add-ons could rise to £16.5 Mill for Sorloth.

Agreed. He may not be "ready" for the PL but how does that excuse the lack of effort. We have had plenty of duds in the past but at least they ran around like headless chickens. For god's sake man show some effort.

He's come from Danish football where the pace of the game is different to that of the PL and English football in general, also it is a big step up for him. Playing now and then from the bench perhaps won't help his adjustment and maybe he is a player who would greatly benefit from a Loan move in January to a club where he will play on a regular basis.Collymore went to Southend and he was a different player after that. I think Sorloth's performances say more about the quality of Palace's scouting and recruitment than the player himself. After nearly a year at the club and receiving a level of coaching way beyond what he had experienced before, there looks to have been no discernible improvement or progression from when he signed in January.

But would he be an asset in the Championship??

He just doesnt look to have the drive to be a PL player. Maybe thats just his demeanour and I shouldnt read anything into it but he lacks effort imo. And quality.

Edited by Willo (01 Nov 2018 9.56am) Please don’t make comparisons with Collymore, who had Wright and Bright in front of him. Sorloth may of come from the Danish league, but that is no excuse for being totally useless.
