I have no doubt he will come back with a better tournament under his belt than that one trick pony Deli Ali, unfortunately for us that means he will cost about the same as the Gross National Debt of Mexico. However I think taking up one of the loan births with him would be a master stroke and allow us to buy the much needed CF we need to challenge BenHeskey. I just hope we are not left with the bargain basement buys of previous windows and we get it sorted early doors

I cannot remember any English player that has returned from performing well at the World Cup to be sent out on loan, it just isn’t going to happen. You a slightly scathing about our bargain basement policy, which has included Benteke, Sakho, PVA etc. I thought I read we were amongst the top 8 biggest spenders in the league.

But if he's not then I recon we have a huge chance of him turning out for us. He really did enjoy his football with us, why if he moves away from Chelsea to enjoy playing football would he not pick the club that he's super settled at already. Can't see him playing for anyone next season other than us or Chelsea. But in reality its highly likely it'll be Chelsea not us.

We compete financially now days with all but the top three. Plus we’re his local club close to his family. Makes perfect t sense when you add the points you make to the equation.

Saw today that Hodgson has said he's going to be better than Michael Ballack. Well it seems Hodgson has given up on him too with that comment, unless he wants us to spend more money on him.

Roy's comments have just increased his price by £10m or so .Cannot see Parish parting with the cash to sign him now.

Frank Lampard reckons he can do everything so there's another £10 million. If so maybe he can get a cut price deal for us from Chelski, lol. Edited by Booted Eagle (23 Jun 2018 9.18pm)

Surely a lot will depend on whose managing Chelsea next season and how highly the new guy rates RLC. I hope he does well for England tomorrow even though that will mean he moves further out of our reach.

Only a knockout offer - out of our range - is likely to see him moving this window

Just before his World Cup first X1 debut, what’s his Chelsea manager said about him...? F**k all is what. Let’s hope he hears Roy bigging him up and singing his praises. Let’s the guy know he’d be number one/two on the Palace team sheet every week. No doubt about that now, Roy is his biggest supporter. Good move.

Having got international recognition he will want the guarantee of first team football. Chelsea with all their other players will find that hard. If he does not get these assurances he will push for a move. He may be offered a loan move but I think he will push for a permanent move unless this has a right to purchase clause. So Chelsea have a real problem and because of the shortened transfer window a new manager may not have any real time to make a decision. I think the best thing for RLC is to move on. He needs to go to a club where he will always be on team sheet and he is not yet the finished article so a top 4 club in my view is not the answer. Chelsea have 4 options I think they will do the fourth as this gives best potential for profit long term
