whether people like his tone & language or not, Willo is right. some t***s made it so that some of our most loyal fans with tickets couldn't get in to the away game of the year. it is by definition failed policing and securuty that the t***s got in, and after that failure, the police panicked and decent fans were seemingly treated appallingly. but the t***s are first in line for blame. Except no one's defended them and have rightly been denounced by pretty much everyone else. People are blaming the stewards and police because they failed miserably to stop 30 kids getting through a fire door, closing the turnstiles before aforementioned rush rush after the police escort turning up stupidly late and then being bang out of order to the 95% who were fine. Oh, and clearly lying about the weapons being brought in.

So, the FSF (http://www.fsf.org.uk) are complying a report on the inadequate policing and poor stewarding at brighton, anyone who would like to share their personal experience of the night can do so by sending an email to Amanda Jacks on amanda.jacks@fsf.org.uk What good it will do I don't know, but to remain silent is to allow those with an alternative agenda to win. It really is a shame that people seemingly cannot argue their case without resorting to such personal attacks. At least I can give you my honest opinions without such virulent personal slurs. Your angst should NOT be directed at 'Yours Truly' but to those hoodlums whose actions resulted in the events that followed which affected genuine supporters with tickets. Let's NOT derail this thread by ad hominem attacks and get back to the subject under discussion.
How about looking at why and how these individuals thought they could get in and if they did indeed get in how that happened. What caused them to think that? I'm certainly not condoning their actions, but as I said earlier on in the thread, I was told by an officer on the night that a SMALL number breached a fire exit which had been left open by BHA staff/steward. Don't just look at the fans and then say they affected everything else look at the stewards and the policing and how they affected the thought process for those that made the attempt to get in. It just exposes your lazy thought processing and generally miopic thinking.

For what its worth Got a cab to the ground ,arrived 5 mins before kick off, asked police where the away end was, asked if we were Palace and showed us where to go..They were polite and helpfull. Showed ticket and they checked it with our season ticket, had a chat with one of the stewards...Barry lovely bloke from the players lounge.got searched and sniffer dog was around...everybody happy, polite and just geared up for the game. Got held in after the game for about 30/40 mins,as expected, let out asked some police direction we needed to go to find our cab..they were polite and helpfull again.,got lost and asked more police which direction..again they were really helpful and polite. One of our lot got caught up with not being allowed in ( was meeting us there ) Did see the queue for the station but didnt see any problems at all. Apart from the smoke bombs/flares whatever they are and the bangers going off and some knob lobbing and banger while we were waiting to get out...never saw any other problem all night.Heard one bloke at halftime boasting he got in without a ticket..he wasn't dresssed in black Really sorry for the innocent people, who got caught up in all the crap that went on.

Call me Mr Old Fashioned, but how is it possible to reconcile these two accounts that are supposedly 20 minutes apart? The video appears to show that no one was being allowed through the away turnstiles, which confirms the reports on the night of 300 Palace ticket holders not getting in.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

"Adversely affected"? Reads like Treat Officially correspondence from a policy branch. Zero empathy. Pathetic.
Yes I DO have empathy with the many supporters who were denied entry as a result of the dastardly actions of those so called "Fans" who were hell-bent on wreaking civil disorder and violence. I for one would have been in a steaming bate and would have vented my spleen had I been affected.

As for "Miopic thinking",I have already advocated that if there is a case to answer concerning the Police this should be dealt with by the authorities and of course BHA are also in this category. At the end of the day, genuine supporters who had paid hard earned money for tickets were denied entry due to the actions of a moronic minority.

I would love to know how this would manifest its self. Could you elaborate on how exactly you would have vented your spleen after being in a steaming bate.
