Even where its people protesting police shootings and the process of protecting officers from justice.

I don't approve of street protests in general.

I may not agree with Stirling on much but I don't think it calls for personal abuse. Especially when we have already been told the facts are wrong.

Personal abuse? I haven't seen any abuse from either myself or Stirling. Just stating what we think about each other which is a very low opinion of each other, which is fine.

Also, you're correct, I haven't been keeping up, I don't have much free time on my hands so don't regulary post on here, or keep up to date with every post on every thread.

Well fair enough....Though I don't know about a 'really low opinion', that's for you. I don't know you to really dislike you. I just occasionally react to you.

So just to keep you up to date that status is long out of date...but I like it.....In a sense I am an ex teacher....My initial thoughts of what teaching was changed as I understood more about it. So I'm an ex that original teacher.....so when it was put up it was accurate for a short while (changing jobs) I like the status as a kind of private joke.

My status has also changed, not worked in insurance for over a year and a half, made plenty of money and quit to do a job I actually enjoy rather than am very good at. Could afford to do it due to couriers requiring high rate car and van insurance.

We've still had a dig at each other previously over our past occupations

When a street protest gets a counter street protest and then becomes an excuse for extremes in both crowds to have a punch up.....that's what annoys me about it.

Better to just advance ideas politically. Hitting people over politics has never been ok.

So while I don't count out joining a few protests, I'm wary of them.

That's cool, I'm pleased for you. It's not easy out there.

Nothing wrong with combative debate and different world views. Jaw jaw is better than war war, as someone with a cigar once said.

Joey Barton?

It's a rat race, sometimes you have to do whatever to pay the bills and put food on the table. I used to work Customer Relations for British Gas when I joined HOL. Can't sink any lower than that.

Customer Relations for British Gas? Wow, that must have been like being transported to the battlefield and being given a plastic fork.

I particularly don't like it when you see young children in pushchairs at demos with signs around their necks with various slogans on - "support same sex marriage", "lift restrictions on abortion", "when do we want it?" etc. [Just a random selection of slogans - other slogans are available.]

Yeah, that's just wrong. It's a kind of display of ownership. Children shouldn't be used in politics.

Male couples should not be allowed to adopt children. Oh, and same sex marriage is a travesty.

So - should same sex female couples be allowed to adopt? Surely children need fathers too?

Two mothers? Not as bad as two fathers. But yes, the ideal is a mother and a father.
