After Swansea I was firmly in the de Boer out camp, but after yesterday’s game I had come round to the view that, given more time, we might soon see an improvement in the results with him as manager. Right now I’m stuck between feeling sorry for him and pleased that he has gone. On the one hand I would probably say he should have been given at least the Southampton game. Then after that we have three games that we’d be lucky to get anything from whoever was in charge, so he might as well have stayed for those too. Then he could be judged, if not on the results, at least on the performances. Mind you, with even 3 points from 8 games, let alone none, his coat would have been on a very shoogly peg indeed. Funny, black cats are considered good luck in Britain and Japan. Furthermore, it is believed that a lady who owns a black cat will have many suitors. The unlucky tag came from Europe and America where the European settlers popularised the superstition.

It's been a massive learning curve for us all tho ... SP included. Until we start work on our ground we will not be a viable investment for the billionaire investors that everyone wants. FDB was a punt and a mistake ... but SP acted fast as learnt from the Pardew debacle. So fair play to him ... No one knows what actually happened and he would not have gone if he had the players right behind him ... simple! No way ... As someone else just pointed out ... if it can happen to Jose @ Chelsea it can happen to anyone ... It happens all the time at Palace and SP has learnt nothing in the last 4 and bit seasons, hence we are in the position we are in as for the ground no point increasing capacity until we have stability in the PL, increasing capacity is not going to help in championship!

Personally, I find people making fun of Roy's speech impediment to be childish and tantamount to a hate crime. I'm not his biggest fan and would prefer he not be appointed but writing such things about someone is just pathetic.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

News greeted in an oh so predictable way. For those on here who delight in blowing smoke up the Chairmans a##e this is strong management (something that did not happen before.) For many though this makes us a laughing stock and we are. Do people think FbB didn't set out his vision to the board, to play 3 - 4 - 3 Ajax style? The board must have known it and arguably sanctioned it by appointing him. We then have yet another woeful window ttying to buy the players we need at the last minute and failing to do so. We then sack the manager after probably our least inept performance and if rumour is true we seek to replace him with a manager pensioned off by England after one of the worse results in national history. As I say we are reduced to a laughing stock.

Palace have become the first team to lose the opening four top-flight games without scoring a goal since 1924!! Its a results business. He needed to go.
