You are right, I apologise.

No it didn't, but the hypocrisy of your last post required a little feedback for balance.

One of my sons is autistic but I have no problem with the actual insult itself. No apology required.

And THIS is where any argument is undermined... I've seen Rudi post on here for years. He likes a debate, discussion, to play devils advocate. Sometimes i agree with him, other times i don't.

However, for someone to openly call for another to be removed from a site based on their profile pic is laughable and juvenile.

Its akin to a small child having a tantrum and stamping their feet until they get their own way. Grow up, get involved in the debate accepting that the people you're conversing with have their own views which are just as valid (to them)as yours.

Well said Lyons. He certainly is going the Gareth Thomas way about things.
I've lost any respect I had for you lanep1.

I also agree with becky. Using statistics to state there must be hundreds of gay professional footballers may not be true. I know a few gay people and they're not at all interested in football - certainly the camper ones.
Perhaps gay men aren't drawn to football and rugby in much the same way women's hockey and rugby DOES attract gay women. Before anyone starts I'm not suggesting all gay men are Larry Graysons and all lesbians are boiler-suit wearing, skinhead dykes but based on my own experiences I've never played football with anyone who is gay but have worked in an office with lots of gay men. None of them liked football.

I still think it's an individual's business what their sexuality is and will never understand why people want people to 'come out'.
To me it would be like surveying all professional footballers and asking them if they like rubber and pvc, do they enjoy anal sex with their WAGS? Do they only shag fat people? ... it's up to them and no one else's business.

I agree that in a sense it doesn't really matter how many gay people, bi or whatever people exist in a particular sport.

I'd imagine it's the same ratio that are attracted to other competitive sports or say the forces.

For clarity I would never use 'autistic' as an insult. Only an observation.

Really? So you use autism as a byword for when you think someone is being narrow minded?

Also, if it truly was just an observation and something you truly think...no matter how silly diagnosing someone as autistic from their points of view then why are you apologizing for it?

Plum, plumb. You the spelling police rudi?

Just so you know mate. I don't think I'd like to repeatedly spell something incorrectly, especially when it's an insult, and you're spelling something else as a result.

No. In my limited experience, one aspect of autism is an inability to empathise.

I should not have used the word as it is far too extreme. For which I have apologised and apologise again.

I never asked for an apology and there is no need for one.

I don't know the evidence for not empathising comes from. I've criticized in this thread those who attack homosexuals, physically or verbally just as I'd criticise anyone who picks on someone minding their own business.

I simply believe that no one is more equal than anyone else...to paraphrase Orwell.

Apparently if I don't support further restrictions on free speech I'm not being empathetic. Well sir, perhaps you aren't being realistic.

Ugly or plain people, short people, low IQ people, people born with unhealthy potentials for violence or sexuality....the list of people who are dealt a hand in life that makes their existence more difficult than the average is endless.

How much time are you spending on worrying about their offence? If you aren't perhaps you aren't 'empathetic' enough.

Same as you. I'd bet that the percentage of gay men liking football or rugby being far lower than heterosexual men.

I can answer the professional footballer questions for them.

Rubber and PVC fetishises? No. More expensive lingerie on flawless bodies (John Terry on former lingerie model and partner of Wayne Bridge perfect example of footballer sexual behaviour. One for David Attenborough.) Or cheaper high street underwear if worn by a very young, hopefully of legal age, fame and money hungry possibly, or just easily led.

Anal sex with their WAGs? Definitely if allowed. They are in peak fitness and have the libido for long sex sessions.

Do they only sh&g fat people? No. Answer above. Flawless gets noticed first. Only fat WAGs you'll see in a player's lounge will be pregnant or Karren Brady. Said footballers could be out (on the pull) later when pregnant WAG is at home. (See young and easily influenced girls part above).

I try not to attack people for things they can't help. And it annoys me when others do that. It looks like simple bullying to me. When I see it I call it out, I don't go looking for it.

My point all along is your laissez faire attitude works for those that can defend themselves but how do you block off attacks on those that can't defend themselves early enough to prevent damage.

And by the way, you missed out a 'where'.
