I like the way that you pick and choose which of the reports to believe in From memory Parish didn't rule out Sakho coming to us but hedged his bets saying that it was highly unlikely. Who knows what the future holds but Klopp is now appearing to make conciliatory noises towards Sakho so perhaps there may be a place for him at Anfield after all

Or perhaps Klopp is playing mind games with Parish. The only non-mind game is Liverpool's asking price. £30m would wipe out most of Palace's transfer budget this transfer season. FdB seems to be moving towards recruiting 'cheaper' much younger but very talented players like Riederwald or (maybe) Callum Chambers who can play CB but other positions too? Its a real shame for Sakho: he is (to me) just about the complete CB and a natural leader too. A real risk for him is that he is going to waste away in Liverpool's reserves when he is great talent

So composed on the ball yet has that hard edge too and throws himself at everything. Real shame that he's out our price range but I think we have to accept that. Hopefully no one comes in for him and we end up with him on loan for the season again but cant see that either to be honest.

I think they'll struggle to get 30m for a player that they clearly aren't keen on keeping. It might be different if he was a Liverpool first team player - but this a player who they effectively sidelined and said they don't want. They'll off load him to the best accepted offer over the summer.

This is why I hate Loan signings. The signing plays terrifically for the team and at the end of the season, the team with the contract, who are happy to see their player loaned out to another team, ask silly money for the player. We could be falling into the same trap this coming season with Loftus-Cheek. At the end of the season, if he has done well and Palace want to sign him permanently, Chelsea will ask silly money for him. How can a manager put a good full time team together if it is littered with loan signings?

How can a manager put a good full time team together if it is littered with loan signings? Loan signings can be excellent for clubs the size of ours. We have a finite budget for transfers and by paying a loan fee of say a million or two it leaves us the balance of say twenty eight million to buy other players. If we had to buy him for ten to fifteen million it would take a huge chunk out of our budget. Clubs like Chelsea always have a stock of quality players and if they want him back at the end of the season we'll just have another one instad

Still think we will get him on loan before the transfer close.

Also the fact our early buisness is loans and cheap deals leads me to suspect we're trying to do deals to enable us to finance the one deal EVERYONE wants. That's why until its all said and done I still believe he could be a palace player come September 1st. Fact is there's no rumours of anyone else in for him. Can't imagine Klop would actually want him to stay unless he can't shift him. The following shows potential to fill many positions everyone believes need strengthening and still potentially having enough to get the big lad back. Cillessen (loan - option to buy) - goal keeper sorted Jimmy Mac sell - £9m - with RLC and JR we'd be able to let him go Net spend: £40m - not unreasonable to think he MIGHT have this much.
