I include Hull in this due to the fact that they were on target for one of the lowest EPL points totals and am amazed that they lasted so long with all the problems on and off the pitch. However, I just do not think he is right for Palace. For the 30+ years of supporting Palace we have never been a free flowing team. It has always been counter attacking or route one in the old days. Steve P even said in his interview on Hol radio that the problems at the start of the season were that we tried to change our style too quickly and I think this is what will happen if we sign a manager in the style of Silva. Mancini also falls into this category. Personally I would rather see a manager who has built his career on the same style played by Palace. This is one of the reasons why Pulis and Allardyce did so well. Edited by Monty the Eagle (25 May 2017 12.46pm) Edited by Monty the Eagle (25 May 2017 12.46pm) hull should've been relegated in february. an absolutely dreadful squad. the fact that they competed into may was extraordinary. i pay no mind to his reactions against us. he knew that team was out of gas. there was nothing he could do at that point. steve bruce quit, knowing that it was a totally lost cause (plus, he's a c###). i'd take silva and let him adapt the team, if he thinks we have the players to do it. better that than gary monk.

Well we all have strong opinions when it comes to say something about Palace. I raised this point cause probaly I fall in the same category but if I'm not wrong probaly I was one of the firts to bring Março Silva to discussion (beginning of february in some posts) so unless something beyond the reasonable happens there's no question Março Silva is the man for the future and higher flights for Palace! COYP Given a choice between him and Monk, I have no argument with your sentiments.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

As long as he's pragmatic and doesn't ignore the defensive side of the game then he should do alright. With Hull he had similar results to us with Sam but will a vastly inferior squad.

Edited by Monty the Eagle (25 May 2017 12.46pm) Edited by Monty the Eagle (25 May 2017 12.46pm) From Mancini's Wiki page : Mancini places great emphasis on building from the back, stressing the importance of not conceding a goal means the team will always have an opportunity to win, going as far to say, "I like 1–0 wins. When you don't concede a goal and you have players like Edin Džeko, Carlos Tevez or David Silva, you win 90%. I prefer we are boring for two to three matches and we win 1–0. If you watch teams that won titles, they conceded very few goals." Sounds straight out of the Allardyce manual. Edited by Booted Eagle (25 May 2017 5.24pm)

So a team in the most popular league in the world , based in one of the most popular cities to live and who pay pretty decent wages to top players can't attract big players ? Think it's you who is clueless , Silva has a better contact than all of our previous managers.
