Time to call it a day and close this boring subject. n.b. Our best and bravest keeper was (in my lifetime) John Jackson and that in the days when keepers were fair game for the most brutal assault, unlike today where they are over protected. So, fat chance of that then. Ah well I suppose a tribute to the subject that his merits and de-merits have required such a lot of correspondence, much of it, as so often on these threads, off subject.

Some of us can only remember Big Nev sitting on his own between the stick at Wembley as Heoff Thomas raised the (ZDS) Cup heavenward!

Not only a good goalkeeper but a thoroughly nice chap. Met him a few times and he is really 'Down to earth' and friendly. Now lives near Harrogate. Blazey is indeed top bloke. Matt Clarke has to go down as a 'could have been.' Injury meant we didn't see the brst of him I reckon? Then we got Kevin Miller...

I don't hate WH but he is crap. He is poor in the air and not particularly quick to get down and his distribution it's terrible. We have 2 clean sheets because he has had absolutely nothing to do. And he still managed to fluff the one cross that came his way last weekend and get bailed out by the defence. Sooner Steve is back the better.

I support him and cheer him more loudly than any player when he catches or does his job. There may be a slight hint of sarcasm in there when I do but he gets my support. I say it how it is on here because this is the place to do so. Which is exactly the right way to do it. I just don't understand the people that go ballistic at him on match day, cant be doing anything positive for his performance.

There was more than one cross, he caught the rest, whilst the one I assume you referring too, was out of his reach. Selective recall! Bizarrely you Mandanda back who punches everything that gets crossed in.
