I think the vehemency fully comes from both sides. It's what riles me up to this extent anyway. I have tried to have many reasonable debates about pardew (during bad AND good times) on here/in the pubs before games etc. And have constantly been shut down in quite an aggressive fashion. With regards to the half glass empty, I don't view it that way. I think we should be playing better. As I've said it's the style of football we play under pardew + the players we have that = the negativity (the results that have invariably come with it also). I'm massively optimistic about the future of the club, being able to go to selhurst and see Christian Benteke leading the line with Mandanda in goal and Cabaye in the middle is something else. Im just not convinced at all with pardew in charge, and I think that viewpoint is more than justified! I may not have been around as long as some but trust me I've grown up with palace being relatively s*** and I love them all the same, win or lose. But we're not in that phase anymore, we gotta drop this losers mindset, and I just can't understand how people can defend Pardews record in the past year. Edited by Mstrobez (26 Oct 2016 12.24am) Reading through your many posts, I get you don't like Pardew. I have yet to see anyone offer a credible alternative to him. The board and SP have the opinions that count, it looks obvious they want an element of stability within the club, as past Chairmen have chopped and changed without any success, just cost a lot of money. I cannot see Pardew being relieved of his post anytime soon, unless there is a real alternative.

Remember Charlton? Fans moaning that they were fed up with Alan curbishley keeping them in the lowerhalf/middle of the prem and not moving on to "the next level". The board finally caved in and made a change, and thats gone well hasnt it! Be careful what you wish for.

This Or Newcastle moaning about some bloke called pardew.... In all seriousness when you look at our 'squad' compared to most premier league teams, I reckon we should finish somewhere between 10th and 14th. At the moment we're there, so can't understand this pardew out thing. Having said that we've got some tough games coming up, and if we loose the next two or three I would start getting a little concerned. Then again if we win them.....pardew for england

I think the next couple of games are going to be very important. If we lose them, not only is this board going to go into meltdown, the players might start wondering if they're going to go on another long loosing run. If that happens we're in trouble. 100% bang on

Oh not at all. I infer that you believe this will be inevitable and will be pleased to remind us of it after the event. (emojis notwithstanding ). Whilst I am not an ardent supporter of Pardew, I happen to believe that your criticism is over zealous - although not to the same extent as the OP who gives the impression he would be more than happy to see a contract onAP before he is offered a new one! Oh mate - please don't feel compelled to tell me and the masses what my actual reasoning is with my comments eh! I have no problems being open & honest on HOL as been on here for years. Truth is, one thing I've learned in life is that when you gut instinct is screaming at you it's always right. Couple that with the sustained poor form in 2016 I feel quite confident about what I'm saying! I'm just miffed I seem to be in the minority. If it does go sideways with AP the masses will be spared any 'Told you so' rhetoric from this corner as that doesn't really feature in my posting repertoire! But I may well make an exception specifically aimed at you ... And for the record, I would like nothing more than AP to do well ... what Palace fan wouldn't?!?! People who don't agree with you & the like are basing their comments on continued poor results, continual bad decision making, no plan b in games, AP seeming to walk exactly the same path he has with other clubs where he has failed etc. It's not rocket science FFS

Whilst I feel we have had a good transfer window the cracks are showing in our squad. Defense needs strengthening and other attacking options are needed. These can now only be addressed in Jan where hopefully unlike last season we don't stand still.
