If we sign him then I really hope we also sign Ulloa, becuase for me we need a strong guy leading the line. I'd take Berahino plus Ulloa over just Benteke but if it's a case of picking just one. I'd probably go for Ulloa Agree with the bold. The worry in this is he's a different type of player to the one we wanted last week. Do we just want a big name, or are we looking for a type of player to fit a system. However, I'd be surprised if we don't bring in a big forward. I think this window for us is 1) difficult to get the quality when we want it so we have to accept they move when the clubs want to sell or the replacements are lined up. 2) a case of taking the offers for players we don't want to keep because getting those offers and wages matched isn't easy seeing as they're clearly not good enough to compete for our 1st XI. We are halfway there to this being a very good window.

Rudi I'd agree, just worried we're spunking all our money on one player.

I have no doubts about his quality and potential but I'm not certain whether he can lead the line by himself, especially as we don't have a top quality attacking midfielder playing behind. Our other signings have been good but none of them suggests a change of style from our fairly direct system. If we get Berahino I think we will still require either a no. 10 playing in the hole or a big man to partner him.

We won't be spunking all our money on one player and you have to spend big on proven forwards or we keep going for potentials that don't deliver. We can afford the expenditure more than relegation. I reckon we have money for one more costing a bit less than Saido and then maybe a loan. There's also a few players we might be able to ship out to clear the wages. It's not the transfer fees for players of 26 and under that concern me (Saido is 22), it's the wages, and none of them will be on £120k-£130k in the case of Benteke, who I incidentally think is the best fit for us. And I'd not expect expenditure like this again next Summer, unless someone like Bolasie goes for £30 million. Edited by Rudi Hedman (22 Jul 2016 10.19pm)

I'll be brutally honest: Jeremy Peace is an absolute tosser of a chairman, And that's me being nice.
