According to the times we have given up on him I don't think the Times is right on this one. Remy will be third/possibly fourth choice if he stays at Chelsea this season; and like Cabaye, wants and needs regular game time ahead of the Euros next year. Plus there's the draw of playing for Pardew again; and hooking up with an old team mate in Cabaye. I also expect he wants to stay in London; and feel certain we will agree a deal with Chelsea to sign him. Its also worth noting that Amy EDS the beautiful ITK girl who said we'd sign Cabaye way before it hit the papers also said a few weeks back that Remy is on his way to us providing they sign Falcao. It is slso worth noting that she has said that Besiktas got in contact and are now favourable by Chelsea. Lets wait and see what we can do. Cabaye was always my number 1 target of the summer so regardless whether we sign Remy or not I will still be happy.

This would be amazing if we got Remy but really hope we don't have to lose Gayle. Massive upgrade, and would mean Murray would still get some game time, but don't want someone else getting the best years of Dwight.

If, and I think it's still a big 'IF' we sign Remy, then other teams are going to be looking at our summer transfer dealings and go WTF !! Other clubs in the 'middle division' of the Premier League we're looking to establish ourselves in are spending money too, but not to the proven PL quality of Cabaye and Remy. I recall Mark Bright saying toward the end of the season we already had our key transfer targets in mind and were working on them, and that it would be quality over quantity. Well, pull this one off and I think it will more than come true, and probably show that the wheels have been in motion behind the scenes on these deals for a while, and that CPFC2010 prefer to do their dealings in private, not through the media. Fingers crossed. Based on Cabaye, cautiously optimistic.

Eds amy tempered tonight that according to her sources a deal is unlikely despite the relationship between Paris and remy, I assume this could be due to asking price or wage demands. So hopefully amy will say differently in day or two.
