It might have something to do with all the top clubs with money to waste buying all the decent players. But I may be wrong..... No I think you're spot on. Joined in a conversation with mates at work on exactly this today. It's a shame to see players who could be idols for other clubs picking up their wages as reserves for the big clubs. Many now go on loan, but no sooner have they made an impact than they're off to another team next year - see Lukaku at West Brom then Everton. Also, those youngsters snapped up by the big teams when they show some promise, then left to stall & moulder when it turns sour. Our Wilf being the prime example, a lot like Routledge before him. At least we got a decent bit of cash this time! Still, b*gger that, great 3 points hard earnt tonight! COYP

It seems to me to be greed from rich clubs to buy the talent and not play them.

Normally I rate David Moyes but I really think he's missed a trick there. Now I'm torn - I'll be very happy to see Cardiff go down, but if he goes there I want Wilf to do well! Hopefully they're not mutually exclusive...

I thought it was a great tactical display from Tony Pulis. When Hull changed in the second half he went 3 at the back to combat and when they changed again so did he, top performance.
The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years |

We may be lacking quality in many areas of the pitch, but WHAT a shift they put in tonight! Jerome All of them ran themselves into the ground (and so did the rest, they were just the standouts for me) I'd love some quality players, but with this amount of effort, I'll cheer this lot all the way! JEDI . Is it just me ? I can't be the only one who thinks he's dump? He always a lot of the ball I think that's why people think he's good. He's centre mid ! he's always gunna have lots of the ball. I think he's dump ! There must be others who agree with me? He's at the top of the entire league in nearly every defensive stat for midfielders. He's an excellent defensive midfielder, and perfect for everything we do. i was about to say that. I don't know how anyone could him 'dump'. Actually i have never heard 'dump' used in that way, maybe I am getting old. He is a part of the backbone that make us what we are this season. He deserves to be captain and deserves every minute of every prem game this far. Solid and fearless. Yup. Pony tonight and I think he knew it but still crucial to us

Absolutely, really threw Hull's gameplan just when they were dominating and having a lot of chances. Bruce must have been just as surprised to see Paddy coming on as most of us were!

What got me Bolasie off for McCarthy FFS, paddy has got to go Seriously, that's your only comment, a whinge about Paddy coming on. Cheer up mate, we won! Unbelievable isn't it? Let's just overlook the fact that matching their formation completely killed their momentum and allowed us to be more attacking. I heard five people moaning about a 'defensive' sub and not one of them credited Pulis with moving Chamakh up top and Puncheon into the free role. We created more chances and half chances after that supposedly defensive move than we did for the rest of the game. Yes, O'Keefe and Wilbraham were defensive subs but with so little time left can you blame him? I can't remember a Palace manager who has been so flexible or bold with his subs. He's decisive and he makes the decision early. It's also the first time I can remember us actually looking like we have worked out set piece routines.
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |
