You're talking classic films here, rather than the contemporary popular fare most have quoted on this thread. I think there is a world of these high class classic films that most on this site probably haven't seen. The likes of Guy Ritchie and Tarantino aren't fit to even tie the shoe laces of the late great Billy Wilder or Orsen Wells when it comes to film directing.

It's hard to say. There are films I think I should mention because I appreciate how amazing they are as feats of cinematic genius (Metropolis, Nosferatu, M, dare I say it Riefenstahl's Triumph Of The Will), but didn't necessarily enjoy. I know just how good they are (I went to film school, bitches), but as a cinematic experience in 2013, aren't the product they once were as entertainment.

Am I making sense?

WORRIED that your teeth will be stained after a heavy night drinking red wine? Fear not; drink a bottle of white wine before going to bed, to remove the stains.

'M' has stood the test of time superbly Mongo I think. Saw it for he third time recently and boring and dated it is not.

It is a brilliant film. Murder, paedophilia, lynch mobs and made near Berlin two years before Hitler took over. Everything about it is so fascinating. Lang's finest. He said so himself.

Mine would be:

1. First Blood: Fantastic performance from Sylvester Stallone.

2. Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels: Favourite British Movie filled with some memorable lines.

3. Silence of the Lambs: Currently the best acting performance I've seen by Sir Anthony Hopkins.

4. Les Miserables: Favourite Musical.

5. A Clockwork Orange: Talented director Stanley Kubrick.
