Fear not, I think we are due a shake up of squad players and really need strength in depth more then added direct quality for the first eleven. For that it does not make sense to go for proven established and expensive players. Young, talented yet able to deliver! Now there is a challenge I would expect someone earning several millions a year (or half year) to live up to. Foreign or even better, lower league quality and perhaps a proven RB. A goalscorer to step in if Benteke is unavailable might be the biggest challenge. We were lucky with injuries upfront last season, i know we lost Wickham but Zaha and Benteke stayed fit. I think most good players would want to know who the manager is going to be before signing for a new club and the club needs to know this as well, its is the managers responsibility to identify the strength and weakness and he needs to say who he wants within the budgets agreed and who he wants to ship out (quite a few in the first team squad I fear!)

Based on two seasons. One in which he was learning and went down. The second where he had it sussed and stayed up.

Trusting Parish and the yanks not to go anywhere near Woy the Melon. We're in a good position, financially secure, in London and have a good squad, we can do better than that dinosaur

I am happy with all three suggested. Can't believe people turning their nose up at Dyche - idiots wanting fancy continental names when likely never watched any of the teams they have managed. As others have mentioned Dyche has done well with young talent and anyone that can turn Joey Barton into a functioning human being on the pitch deserves a medal. Not me necessarily blowing the Dyche trumpet for the job but can't understand the negativity against him. Amen! We really should be glad that we've got such a sensible line up. Dyche is a very solid choice and I strongly suspect if his name was Dychichio or summat the muppets who say he'd be a disaster would be creaming their crusty pants.

Bonuses with Dyche is he should be happy with a relatively restricted transfer kitty.

Twitter is going nuts since Hodgson became the bookies favourite. When will people learn that the bookies don't hire managers at any football club?

I don't think this Roy Hodgson rumor has much legs to it. A few years ago I used to work with one of John Carvers mates, he got a text saying John had been made interim manager and we all started placing bet with the straight away, as did some of the players apparently. I placed one bet at evens, by the time I'd set up an account with another company the odds were 1/8. That took about 15 mins. The odds would have tumbled much quicker if something was going on. I even have suspicions that someone might have put on one big bet to shorten the odds, therefore making the other candidates go longer, then put loads smaller bets on a more likely candidate. Having said that, the field of candidates still isn't inspiring, could it be worth getting woy in on a short term until someone better comes along?
