Shame he has the power to block no deal though isn’t it. You are right, I do find it ridiculous that the speaker has so much power. He is by the far the worst speaker I have seen, bearing in mind they should be impartial. Accusations of bullying/harassment, alleged expenses abuse, should have seen him gone by now but he will be gone at the next GE if not before.

Childish. Anything other than a Labour win would have been surprising in the Asian outpost of Peterborough. They scraped in, in a mid term bi-election with a floundering government and only 600 votes more than a party only formed a few weeks ago. Do you actually think that is something to cheer? Farage once again being denied a seat at the table is absolutely something to cheer. This is a devastating blow to his narrative and had he won that could have had major implications at the next general.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

Guess he had this little stunt planned when he got carried away thinking he would finally have a seat at the big boys table. Funny thing is he decided to go through with this desperate media stunt even though they lost. This kind of thing smacks of desperation to stay relevant and stay in the limelight.

No we have a 2nd, I thought if we didnt get the result we wanted. Isn't that democracy? Well of course there'll be another vote in Peterborough. It's called an election cycle. It happens every 5 years unless the incumbent leaves office/a snap election is called. Because surprisingly, people are given the chance to change their minds. I say surprising because giving people the chance to change their minds is apparently undemocratic nowadays.

I'd say he's succeeded admirably. He is still very relevant and very much in the limelight. It must be really pissing you off.

Am I pissed of that Farage was denied a seat at the big boy's table for the 8th time? Am I pissed off that Brexit couldn't win despite all the polling and being odds on bookie favourites? Am I pissed off that despite millions in free advertising and his face plastered on every paper and TV show, riding high from the MEP results, they STILL lost in a heavily leave area? No not really. I am delighted.

HO HO HO HO Sent via @updayUK I am not surprised. I wonder if the original judge may get her knuckles quietly rapped. We will have to wait to see the full judgement but most sensible people see this for the stunt it was. There was plenty of opportunity during the campaign to publicly refute the accuracy of the 350 million claim and plenty of Remainers did just that. That's politics one man meat.... Whilst we all complain that politicians lie the courts should not become a political football as they have in the US. Their legal system is now a joke because complainers now cherry pick the judge that favours their party political view. I don't think we want that here. The plaintiff is now complaining he is massively in debt due to legal costs. Well perhaps if he had spent more of the money he crowdfunded on the case rather than himself!
