I could be convinced....but surely the practicalities and cost would be strong arguments against.....it leads me to suspect that it's not really a sensible path to pursue. Agreed. Just renationalising the railways wont solve the problems. People squawk about the profit the train companies make, and the salaries the executives earn. However as part of the overall costs they are not hugely signifiant, and in the case of executive pay you would still have to pay top dollar even if it was nationalised. So any plan to nationalise the railways should be a lot more than just take it back as is. We need to see a reworking of how the railways are managed I could then go along with that if it was the right solution.

But then you weren't around in 1975, so I will let you off. The phrase "word salad" does not even come close. WTF does that mean? Are you saying they would have more power by giving it to the EU? If so, what definition of power are you using? Edited by W12 (04 Jun 2019 11.40am)

Now can we leave it please We can leave it when I have explained my position. This is case of grammar. Don’t think “something something” AND “didn’t do something something” is a double negative for the second part of the statement. That’s how I read it anyway. Please understand I am simply responding to being accused of altering someone’s statement which I think is a big no no. I read it grammatically as a double negative. I think that clears it up then.

F&cking hell, have a watch of a failed (seven times) MP totally floundering when asked a question about something other than Brexit. If Farage has actual designs on putting his party forward in a general election he is going to have to learn to deal with the likes of Piers Morgan and intellectual power house Susanna Reid a bit better than this. She even tied him up in knots. Talk about alienting gay people by totally failing to adequately condemn gollum in a wig's (Widdecombe's) comments about gay people needing to be 'cured'. Is this the 1950s? A vote for the Brexit party is a vote to go back in time. Does it excite anyone here to have a high ranking member of the brexit party have vile views on homosexuality?

Laughable when you consider the regularly feeble performances of Corbyn, the Labour shadow cabinet and Remainers generally. You must be watching TV from an alternative universe.

Yeah, Ann is certainly chucking them off buildings isn't she. Widdlecome is an old fashioned Catholic and she means no one any harm. Really Maine, your level of exaggeration is Trump like......This whole situation was staged by activists looking for precisely your kind of reaction. Oh and the majority of people were happier in the 50s, women especially.......Too much Social liberalism has quite literally fecked people in the arse.

Come on, Stirlingsays. She does a HELL of a lot of harm, as a high profile public figure, by suggesting being gay is a disease which needs a cure. That is truly vile. Suggesting Women were happier as housewives in the 50s, thats a tad controversial there, did you clear that with your missus first? We could probably ask Gollum as I guess she was alive in the 50s. As for exaggerating like Trump, if I had done that I would say Widdecombe had just murdered 22 gay men in a house in Watford.
