Yeah, my bad, still, 50k is not a bad average for doing non life threatening work, responsibility wise, and the 55k tube drivers money comes with ot and unsociable hours- nights and weekend work!Pay them more i say- they can spend it in restaurants, pubs, holidays- and get the economy booming! Another thing is that the city types I've met (not many of them but a few) were Essex wide boys not ex-Etonians. Why shouldn't working class lads earn big money?

A lot of 'Essex boys' in my experience these days, whilst having working class routes, I would categorise as having grown up/become accustom to a middle class lifestyle with the added 'glitz n glamour' and faux cockney accent of course. All this in my experience has led to a more 'city' culture as opposed to a productive one whereby honest, hard working people regardless of background have sought to earn 'big money'. As for their work ethic and general intelligence I have to say a lot is left wanting. It's still very much Thatcher/Harry Enfield-esque to me. That said, I don't deny nor scorn them for it but there is a certain responsibility for those who are in charge of 'the money'. Luckily my employment renders them somewhat irrelevant to me but when your next guy is being f**ked by their antics is does somewhat pose a moral and social question or two.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

It seems you may have quoted basic salary. Here is some of the other perks, Also don’t bother applying, they have not recruited externally since 2008! Don’t forget the shifts where they turn up “as cover” are not needed so go home…. Fact. My wife works with a spouse of a tube driver

When they failed due to their reckless behaviour we ended up bailing them out. A huge mistake in my opinion they are monuments to greed and avarice they are corrupt and their performance is abject. To pay them anything is an insult to working people. Independent, in charge of inflation? They want us to reward them for failure. Bankers should be paying us not the other way round.

And so far the taxpayer has made about 1 billion profit on said bailout. I’m sure that’s good news. Btw the lights didn’t go out and life went on. Also it was a labour hmg and I agreed with what they did.

it was Gordon Brown who deregulated FFS Steeleye as usual all bandwagon and no facts As you say, the taxpayer made money and the economy was saved
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Albeit that the changes in Ts and Cs are the way to free up money for the pay rises. This is going to backfire on the unions as by the time the strikes are over and seen to be a waste of time the offer will have dropped with inflation and Ts and Cs will be changed anyway. Remember the miners strikes? Not many pits survived did they? Even with that dope stirring it up daily. Money is actually god tbh!
