I think you are indirectly agreeing (as you won’t answer a simple question) that the HF promote, add to and increase the positive atmosphere.

I agree.

I'm struggling with the contradiction that they're such great fans but have deliberately acted in a way they believe to be detrimental to the club just becuase they can't move to another block.

Let's not forget they've had preferential treatment at Wembley etc. (and rightly so). Not exactly been given the cold shoulder over the years.

Right here goes an idea,
The club start working on this NOW.
Every season ticket holder in the lower tier gets sent a simple letter asking if they want to be part of the singing section.
The club will then know how many seats to allocate for the singing section. This section will be formed from the middle outwards with the HF in the middle of it.
The remaining season ticket holders would be given the chance to select their seats on length of support with certain deadlines. This would mean that nobody would be moved from the centre of the stand to the corners and also nobody would feel victimised because long term supporters would be given first choice.

I will put it to steve on monday, or later tonight if i can get him on the phone, i like it!

Now here's the thing.... The HF have no effect on how the team play... some might not like that but it's true... I think we sometimes overestimate the effect fans have on the team... footballers, generally will say in interviews what they think the fans want to hear.. that's why they have media training.. but ultimately the team will play well or poorly based on how they get on and the coaching they get.

I've been watching Palace since 1987... I have been involved in games where our supporters have been amazing... A great atmosphere is nothing new to Selhurst Park..

What I don't agree with, is throwing toys out the pram because they don't get there own way.. No player or set of fans is bigger than the club... A true fan stands by the club no matter what.

Interestingly, I think they did a display which said "no matter what". It turned out the small print was "unless we don't get our own way" . For me, I will enjoy having the atmosphere back, but their reputation as supporters of the club first and foremost is shattered, and they will now effectively be hired cheerleaders.

I tend to agree with you now, after all this npn..

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Originally the HF were great fun,a friendly bunch who produced lots of noise with their unique songs which other clubs have copied.
But now they're starting to believe their over inflated image, and imagine they are a superior breed of Palace supporter.
Of course they are deluded.Parish has caved in to their demands because he wants the quiet life, and we're nearly always sold out anyway,so he doesn't care who sits or stands where.
Quite frankly this recent spat has made Palace a laughing stock among opposing fans, and the HF have become a total embarrassment.

There's no HF at the moment so it's just a hypothetical question.

I think that this was confirmed earlier in the thread when one first teamer admitted that he hadn't realised that they had gone

Sorry you don’t agree with our chairman. But luckily for me and thousands of other fans SP appreciates the need for noise in the Homesdale so whatever you and your fellow pc crowd think this is what is happening. Accept it and move on.

And one thing SP doesn’t go for is a quiet life. CLEARLY! !

There is nothing hypothetical about it. Virtually everybody agrees the atmosphere has dropped dramatically and negatively since their disappearance.

Go on, swallow, and admit you agree.
