But just because its good for his own 'remain' position The so called conservative views the only likely Tory who could easily create an actual Conservative majority in the commons as a 'disaster'. Sure, I could understand you preferring other candidates but a 'disaster'? Along with your other dodgy claims Its just another dent in your nonsense claims about being a conservative. If I asked you where your politics differed from any of the self avowed supporters of the left on this platform I'd be very interested to know. I don't actually support it at all, but now it has been brought let's hope it works. That has nothing whatsoever to do with my own position on Brexit. In truth I think Johnson becoming PM would probably make a no Brexit outcome more likely because he would cause the revoking of Article 50 by Parliament and a GE, resulting in a hung Parliament with a Labour led coalition as a consequence. Johnson would further split the Tory Party and not heal it. Indeed unless someone can find a way of bridging the apparently unbridgeable chasms that exist and then selling that to the EU, at a time when their team is also changing, then we are headed towards Oct 31 without a prayer, whoever becomes PM. Parliament will not accept no deal so a vote of no confidence and a new Parliament looks to me to be an almost certainty. Johnson is not the answer and I don't think anyone else will provide one either but stand a marginally better chance. I have no wish to see a Corbyn led government as I have no more desire to see us swing left than I have to see us swing right. As I have told you many times I am a "One Nation" Tory, firmly on the middle ground of responsible social democracy, with a conservative fiscal policy and a liberal approach to social needs. That is where I believe the Party needs to be for without the centre ground in it's grasp it will become confined to the noisy margins. Alongside UKIP and Brexit! Like Heseltine I voted Lib Dem last week, for exactly the same reasons. Want them to throw me out too?

So I can say I f***ing hate Albanian people and its not being racist? You can be racist towards people from a certain country, last time I checked. Having an issue with racism is not being PC, its being a decent human being. Judging people because of what is on their passport is bonkers.

Yeh true, I think they are a bit interchangeable though these days, but the classic meanings: Xenophobia: Dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries. Racism: Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.

I'd say you voting Lib Dem is actually an accurate reflection of the political opinions we have seen on this board. If I were in a position of authority within a party would I throw someone out of the party for voting for a different party? Not as a one off protest by a long standing member.....However, it's valid outside of that. As for you Wisbech, I found your responses as unconvincing as always and once again you didn't tell us where you politics differed in any meaningful way from the left on these boards.

You're against a national of a country asserting their right to their own country. I've probably taught more foreigners and helped more foreigners than I care to remember, it doesn't mean I wish to give my country away.

Flippin eck Stirlingsays you dont half sound like a bloke with an interesting moustache in the 1930s sometimes. I believe this started about a comment regarding Albanian's washing cars. Quite a stretch to go from those meager beginnings to a debate about your "right to your country" whatever that actually means? Only a Sith deals in absolutes. I am not an Anglophobe at all, that is a silly claim. I am also not a fan of xenophobia or racism where it rears its ugly 2 heads. There is a middle ground, where people can be both non anglophobes, AND not appreciate xenophobia. I guess I am inhabiting this particular area. Not sure what your "right to your own country" means exactly, but let me guess - kick out Johnny Foreigner and take back your jobs and women? What does "give your country away" actually mean? What is it that you want, the England of the 14th century, where you would perhaps only see a Frenchman on the end of a longbow, and all faces around you are lilywhite and English at all times?

Still, I'm happy that you enjoy my Oliver Hardy impressions. As for Hitler....Na....I just don't like the socialism...and the...you know...killing Jews bit. I actually quite like Jews....the rational ones anyway. Originally posted by Maine Eagle

What does "give your country away" actually mean? It means allowing your country to demographically shift so that both the power and territory within it are increasingly controlled by those who don't identify with that country. Originally posted by Maine Eagle
What is it that you want, the England of the 14th century, where you would perhaps only see a Frenchman on the end of a longbow, and all faces around you are lilywhite and English at all times? The French are Europeans. In terms of percentages requirements that is a difficult topic to broach.....it's not a skin colour issue, it's an allegiance one. England has to have a majority of English people within it to actually be English. Our capital has lost that identity and our second largest city is about too.
