I'm one of those "Hardline Tories" who certainly won't be defecting to UKIP ! And I know quite a few like me who have never expressed their desire to leave.

It might take the form of a party split where the right part breaks away and absorbs UKIP rather than some mass cross floor migration all in the direction of a startled Mr Carswell.

Only party I can see splitting is 'Labour' thanks to Jeremy Corbyn.

Angela Eagle still campaigning by claiming that the Referendum was a disaster for Britain.

Good luck with that Angela.

Labour more likely to split than Tories, certainly. All the Blairites can join their like minded Tory chums on the government benches, or call themselves Blue Labour or something.

Wouldn't be a bad thing, potentially- at least then people would know what Labour stood for.

This. At least someone voting Red would get Red and not an ever so slightly lighter shade of Blue.

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

Labour may be splitting but to say it is "thanks to Corbyn" is ridiculous. It is Ms Eagle (nothing to do with Palace) who is doing the splitting. She is standing against a leader elected with a 60% vote 9 months ago. I would say it is like saying that the Christians started the fight with the lions, except that Ms eagle is no lion and Corbyn is not a Christian (as far as I know).

I wouldn't count on it Willo. I agree that labour is more likely at the moment and accept that your party is a robust entity with very deep historic and cultural roots that must have survived many shocks. However, you almost imploded over Maastricht. That will seem like a tea party compared to the internecine carnage that poor Theresa is now going to have to manage. Rather her than me.

Perhaps you will have a party in its current form when the all clear sounds. Perhaps you won't..?

Labour MPs are ridiculous! They are doing this because they want to get re-elected a.k.a keep their jobs. But this is the worst way to go about it.

They should have known:

a) Corbyn (legend) wouldn't resign regardless of MP pressure

b) Corbyn will be re-elected by the party members.

So this will either lead to them damaging the party, or setting up a new party, which will damage them in the polls further.

Why not just get behind Corbyn, let the public decide whether he is a good leader at upcoming elections, and if they struggle at the polls then try to give him the boot with justifiable reasons.

No you can't do that, it makes too much sense!

Thank the lord for that I would hate to think she was the Labour leader in the near future...

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

Yeah, I think that's exactly what they should do.

Then we will have at least another term without Labour in office.
I actually doubt they will get back in in my lifetime.

Rejoice.
