Interesting, thanks for sharing. How about the other 23 individuals or entities I mentioned? Chancellor of the Exchequer, the multi-millionaire staunch remainer! Wonder why he is gobbing off about staying... he epitomises the reason Brexit has not happened

I think if my position is status quo, then it is for you to explain how taking the UK out of a close trading and business mechanism enshrined for over 40 years suddenly overnight, whilst simultaneously ripping up every customs and trading agreement at the same time, makes things BETTER, Spiderman? Your old pal Pussay Patrol would have expected a Brexiteer, who made such a sweeping comment, to prove it or supply a link. Presumably Remainers do not have to, as appears to be the status quo on here.

I list over 20 people or groups and you come back with individual responses to 1 or 2 of them. There is such a thing as Trump Derangement Syndrome. Something else I have noticed is Brexit Derangement Syndrome. People who suffer from that think every single person who warns against it is disingenuous and has nefarious ulterior motives. A BDS sufferer can never accept a single criticism or possible downside of Brexit. I think the head of the National Union of farmers is warning against a no deal crash out of the EU as it will be a catastrophe for the farming industry.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

Generally speaking there needs to be checks and customs etc when trading between an EU and non EU country, particularly for live animals etc. This means that if there is an overnight no deal exit, then this immediately creates a hard border in Ireland, which is where the backstop debate comes in.

Agreed it's a publicity stunt. If you have the money and this chap crowd funded it so he will get his day in court. "Someone is guilty of the offence if a prosecution can prove that the official wilfully neglected to perform their duty - or "misconducts" themselves - to such a degree that it amounts to an abuse of the public's trust in the office holder" I would imagine that Boris will say his comments were an opinion not misconduct. If he is guilty then the same applies to most politicians of all parties who spin facts. The £350 million per week claim does not recognise that some of that money comes back to the UK as a rebate. Boris will argue his point was that the rebate comes with strings attached and that having left the EU we can decide 100% how that money is spent.
Update: I suspect that this judge has overstepped the mark and it will be thrown out on appeal. However if not Tony Blair should be very worried indeed. Edited by Badger11 (29 May 2019 1.47pm) Edited by Badger11 (29 May 2019 1.47pm)

There's counter examples and opinions to those that you list. The majority of Brexiters who gave it proper thought accept that there will be some negative consequences of leaving, but cam to the conclusion that overall, leaving is the correct thing to do. No one has ever said it will be perfect. There's no need to strawman.

Edited by dollardays (29 May 2019 1.47pm) If this results in a conviction then Farage will be doing life in strangeways inside 6 months. Joking aside if this makes politicians stop and think, for just 1 second, before spreading at best somewhat misleading and at worse totally false lies in terms of stats and figures, then it’s a good thing.

Think you need a subscription to the FT to access that link, Becky. I think many farmers didn’t vote for a no deal exit, they voted for a managed exit. The head of the national farmers union is very clear on her grave concerns about the disaster of a no deal exit for the entire industry.
